USMA Class of 2017 Acceptance Thread

I'm really not qualified to answer that, I'm a candidate like you. It may change from region to region, or be across the board for candidates, I really just don't know. Speaking as someone who lives in the Northeast Region however, my portal made said change and I also received a...

    Boys State

At my school, I indicated I was interested to my guidance counselor. She notified the American Legion who paid my share to go. Honestly Boys' State was one of the greatest experiences of my life thus far.

USMA Class of 2017 Acceptance Thread

That blue box about official correspondence on the front page will not indicate whether or not you were appointed. You must go to the "overview" tab and if you were offered an appointment there will be a royal blue box that allows you to accept/decline your appointment. Hope this helps.

    To early?

Based on my own experience, that is definitely not "too" early. I contacted my FFR towards the end of 8th grade. I sat down and spoke with her about what I would need to do in the future to earn an appointment. It helped knowing what was expected of me in the coming years if I was to achieve...

What did you do in the days leading up to the CFA?

Hey everyone, I am curious how different people prepared in the days before the CFA, as I am taking mine next week. Did you not do any exercise for 3 days? Did you train up until the very day of the test? Also, I would like to hear how you prepared in the hours before the test, did you take...

    Remedial Issues and Lost Username/Password

Hello, After taking the initial DoDMERB, I require a remedial exam for a "repeat manifest refraction." The option I chose was the DoDMERB recommended one which involves the DoDMERB paying for a civilian optical exam. Today when I called the assigned office, they appeared to not be sure what...

    Optional Surgery After DoDMERB

I have posted about this before, but I have since taken the DoDMERB, and received my results; I need one remedial regarding eyesight. The surgery I am referencing however, is in regards to my left thumb, which was a duplicate when I was born. The duplicate was removed, and I have lived 17...

    CVW status?

This was the case with me as well, so I contacted USNA via the e-mail offered on the bottom of their invitation. They then replied with links to the other 3 CVW weekends. Hope this helps.

    CVW status?

Just FYI- The September 20-22 session is already full, I had to sign up for one of the other 3. It would appear that if you received an offer, it is a good idea to "jump on it" as space seems to be filling up quickly. YMMV though.

    CVW status?

I just got this e-mail tonight as well. I'm hoping I'll be able to make it to the September 20-22 weekend if at all possible.

    Thumb Surgery Question

Here is the situation: when I was born, I had a duplicate thumb on my left hand. I had corrective surgery, but the tip of my left thumb is askew. This has never stopped me from any activity, and I have been this was for 17 years now. However, now that my hands are done growing, I can get...

    Sophmore year.

Others have covered the shyness issue, so I will try to respond to your medical question; There is no simple way to tell you what will DQ you medically from USMA. The fact is there are so many factors it is not possible to tell you what might be a problem without your medical history. What...

    Senior Year Activities

When I filled out my CAR I did not notice any statement that indicated that I needed to include anticipated senior year activities as well, unlike USNA. (I could easily be wrong, however.) Therefore, I did not include my upcoming tennis season in the application. (It only states that I have 3...

Hello everyone, My name is Slopes and I am a candidate for the USMA/USNA classes of 2017. I am also applying for the NROTC Marine Option and AROTC scholarships. I have been "lurking" on these forums for over 3 years now, but just today "bit the bullet" and joined as I have a few questions...
