Does anyone have any updates/confirmation about NROTC indoc being cancelled? DS visited his unit a few weeks ago, and they appear to be proceeding under the assumption that indoc will occur as usual.

How's this for irony: My DS received an appointment to USNA (incl. LOA) and was accepted to Harvard, but was not selected for an NROTC scholarship. He has decided to attend Harvard as a college programmer. Congrats and best of luck to your DS!

DS received appointment in November. We are in the 1st district, but the nomination was from Senator Lieberman.

DS' portal changed to "We're sorry . . ." as well. LOA and appt to USNA. 1500+ SAT (math/CR). 10 AP's with A's in all. 4.3+ GPA. Elected school officer. Varsity sport 3 years and Captain this year. Tier 1 major. Already accepted to 1st choice school. Things that come to mind as to why...

Thanks JCT95. His academics are extremely strong, including SAT's, AP's and grades. Also, very well-rounded with athletics and other EC's.
