Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

I as well disagree with that statement a lot, if that has any weight. I hate that stigma that is ingrained around here...but I'm in the minority in that view

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

Even though that info is for Plebe Summer only, it pointed me the right link for current separation and more threads about it too and a lot of info that I didn't yet know.

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

I haven't spoken to really anybody about it because I'm not sure but I am definitely going to probably speak to one, just not right now because it's still pretty early. That was a poor choice of words on my part in regarding the "why I applied." I'm sorry I'm not supplying a bunch of info, but...

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

When I said "ridiculed here" I meant at the Academy (or at least the people I'm around here), not here on the forum. But it's fine though as I realize it's not the most popular thing to do or say. I appreciate all input and am going to re-evaluate my situation and what I want to do. Not sure...

My Current Situation with PLC, ROTC

Pardon the Interruption but Vira I saw you said you started out with USNA. Did you go there or were you just thinking about it?

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

I was just looking for input without much ridicule, as I'd get ridiculed here I'm just gonna do what's best for me and I'll decide later next semester what I'm going to do. Just gonna have to think a lot and hope the rents and extended family don't toss me away haha.

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

Appreciate the advice guys If I were to leave the reason wouldn't be for being separated, academics, or conduct (at least not that I know of haha), it'd honestly be just because I (would) want to leave. And sorry wasn't trying to twist the numbers, but attrition rate here is a little on the...

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

Wait so the professor of military science can deny you into the program?...For coming from an Academy? Hmm, that sucks. It's not really cynical firsties as I actually have little of those, and I don't interact that much with upperclassmen anyway. It's more of a personal thing. I'm leaving...

Transferring From U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

Thank you for the advice guys, much obliged I am thinking about it very much, that's why I'm not just dropping out right now. I'm going to stay the whole Plebe Year and my best in all things attaining to Plebe Life and academics and then make that decision near the end on what I want to do...

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

If you were to leave in good standing and still wanted to do NROTC wouldn't that say more about the school itself though, not the desire to serve, especially when one is repeatedly told a lot that "The Academy is nothing like the fleet?" Is it that looked down upon by the outside community...

Transferring from U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

I'm seeking information and am trying to get some help I want to know if you know of or hear of, seen...anything...about transferring from USNA (in good standing) to NROTC (after plebe year is through), and what their experience was like. This thread will get super, super long if there are...

Transferring From U.S. Naval Academy to NROTC

Thanks much guys, much appreciated. Will hopefully give the chaplain talk a try. I read somewhere, maybe on this forum or airwarriors or something similar, that there are a good number of people that leave USNA and still do NROTC and end up fine. Again I'm trying to keep away from any...
