I received a call from the track coach. I did receive a Prep School appointment. I'm both excited and a little disappointed. Now I have to get some info on that.
Changes
Well I recieved the "we regret to inform you letter" from the CGA today, not surprised. So I checked my status on the KP website, and I'm no longer on "hold". There is a blank space there now. Didn't think it would go blank, so I am still in limbo.
I'm wondering if the CGA has made all of their decisions? I'm still on "hold" for the USMMA, and have received an NROTC scholarship, but my "reach" school has always been the USCGA. Can anyone out there tell me what's up? Objee?
I'm going to reply to this thread because I'm a little annoyed by some of you who may be my classmates. I'm from Wisconsin and I have been on "hold" with the USMMA for a long time. If I do get an appointment it will be a great day for me. I'm glad that there will be guys/girls like Mako group...
Thanks, it's been a long wait. I am hoping to hear this week. If nothing else, the experiences I have from my visit to KP and getting the nomination were worth it.
Just wondering if anyone from the great State of Wisconsin has heard. I'm still on "Hold" from September. The wait is driving me CRAZY! I've got plan B and C and D all ready. I was shown an article in a paper from another part of my state where another candidate got his nomination and in his...
I forgot to say that your extracurriculars are like mine, but I had more team sports than you and less student gov. My PT scores were similar to yours, but I had a few more push-ups. I really think it's a lot about whether the military thinks you can learn and lead vs. how well you take tests...
Your grades and scores are fine. I recieved a NROTC scholarship in Oct and AROTC in Feb. Your test scores blow mine away (25 ACT), and my GPA is 3.5 with some AP. I think my interviews and essays helped because I was told they showed that I wanted to be an officer regardless of the scholarship...
No letter yet (WI resident) but found out that I was awarded 3 year scholarship to #2 choice private school and 3 year to #6 choice OOS public school. Didn't get anything to public state school which was #1 choice.
NROTC 4-yr recipient
USMMA on "hold"
USCGA still under review
I'm really, really, happy! I found that I was awarded scholarship to 2nd choice school, which really was my first choice but because it's private, I didn't think I would be getting one there. What a great surprise!
I'm going to the gym now to do some more sets of push-ups, sit-ups and other...
Is AROTC similar to NROTC where the scholarship recipient can request a transfer of the award to a different school? Specifically, if the scholarship is awarded to a school and the recipient doesn't get in, does the Army allow a switch? My in-state school is very competitive (my admission...
I think you should apply and give it your best shot. I received a 4-year scholarship in October to my first choice school, and I didn't think I had a chance. At the time of my scholarship award I had a 25 ACT and a 3.45 GPA. I have a lot of sports leadership, and was a leader in some clubs. My...
Nothing New To Report
Just checked my status for first time in a few days and my"hold" status hasn't changed. There is no update on the nomination either, although I received it 11 days ago. I'm not going to sweat it yet. They might be waiting for my 7th semester grades I guess (which I don't...
I was awarded a NROTC scholarship in October. I had lower scores than you did but I listed some Big Ten schools as my primary selections. I was wondering if maybe your school choices are whats holding you back. No offense, but the Navy may be getting hit with some big cuts soon and the schools...
I'm in both track and football. I received a call from my Congressman last night telling me I was his principal nomination. I was also wondering if there is principal nominations for the USMMA.
