Guess what I did today? My husband and I went with our son to Charleston where he had an interview for the honors college at a college there. Before the interview, we had some extra time so we went to the gate at the Coast Guard Station and asked for a tour. The folks there were SO kind and...

I've been reading about people who "take a contract" with one or another branch of the services. I can't really understand completely what that means. When does one do that? Is it scholarship $$ related, or pay related? Are you enlisted until graduation, then go to OCS and become an officer...

If so, would you share how that went for you? Thanks.
