    May I say this?

To whom it may concern: I'm the OP on the Facebook Horror thread. Yikes -- I did hope it would not be discussed, only "bumped" because I was afraid of the flames. I did request no discussion in the OP. Anyhow, at this point the thread is closed. I've been praying about the requests...

    Facebook horror.

Read this, but please don't reply, except to say "bump" so others will read it. I really do not want to discuss this, but simply want to bring it to your attention. I got a NASTY, NASTY, NASTY message on my Facebook wall from a USCGA cadet (class of 2010) who was (WAS) on my son's friend...

Son was lifting weights in the garage. I checked the mail and came walking up with a

BIG WHITE envelope. Now, he has been really c.o.o.l. about checking the mail... but, he sure noticed me walking up the driveway with that in the stack. So, he calmly walks up... and says, "Is that for me?" I had to say, > > > > > > > > "No." It was his sisters' registration...

Pre-Knob Visit at Citadel. Tell me about your

visit... how did it differ from Scholars Day (other than staying in the barracks)? Did the meeting for parents/students differ from the meetings on Scholars Day, for example? Did your Pre-Knob visit make you more (or less) likely to attend the Citadel? What was the most interesting part...

Coast Guard Station Charleston - fun today!

Guess what I did today? My husband and I went with our son to Charleston where he had an interview for the honors college at a college there. Before the interview, we had some extra time so we went to the gate at the Coast Guard Station and asked for a tour. The folks there were SO kind and...

"Take a contract" -- what does that mean?

I've been reading about people who "take a contract" with one or another branch of the services. I can't really understand completely what that means. When does one do that? Is it scholarship $$ related, or pay related? Are you enlisted until graduation, then go to OCS and become an officer...

Dr. Rhodes at the Citadel... has anyone interviewed with him for Honors College?

If so, would you share how that went for you? Thanks.
