    Citadel Overnight and CSI Summer

My son did the overnight visit and really enjoyed it. He said they didn't sugar coat anything and that everyone answered all of his questions honestly. Congrats and good luck at the Citadel!

    AFROTC results delayed

My freshman DS has been paid every month, provided uniforms, tuition, book money etc. I wonder why it is so different at his school. Feeling lucky!

    Army ROTC Scholarship Award Ceremony

My son did get the BIG check from the Army ROTC at his senior awards ceremony. It was very nice and they actually let him keep it too! The ironic part was that several months prior he had declined the AROTC scholarship in favor of an AFROTC scholarship. They were aware of it but came anyway. The...

AFA may drop "So help me God" from oath

This along with all of the other anti-Christian messages I have heard about in the military recently, makes me want to talk to my son about his decision to join the USAF. Very sad!

Pentagon unit held 'phony' ceremonies for MIAs, using planes that can't fly

I wish NBC news would investigate themselves for the one sided, biased journalism they consistently spew.

    Books

On a related note, I am appalled by the cost of text books now! My son just ordered his and some of them were not even bound additions! $187.00 / EACH and he has to provide the notebook for two of them! I also noticed that some of them were "specific" to his University so he couldn't even...

    ROTC and Partial University Scholarship

It does depend on the University. My DS is in the same boat and he gets the remaining amount credited to his account. He can use it for meal plans or anything else he would like to. It is a very nice benefit to have. What State are you in?

5 year army rotc scholarship Question

My son got a 4 year AF ROTC award this spring and was told the same thing by the ROTC detachment commander. He is majoring in engineering as well. They told him that he will chose his graduation year when he reports this August but they highly recommend the five year route due to the rigors of...

    Broken Tool

...Usually, but not always! It is possible that something called a "tolling provision" may be used. The OP needs to talk to an attorney in his State, but a classic example of when this provision is used is; foreign objects being left in someone and complications arising later. :thumb:

    Broken Tool

I don't know if you would get a dq because of it but I do know that you would have a pretty good suit. If that was given as the reason for the DQ from DODMerb, I would run to an attorney.

    For Those Denied Admissions

Based on what I just read, you will be successful whether you go to WP or not! Life is full of "rejections" and disappointments but your character is truly shown by the way you respond to these. Everyone that sticks their necks out for something tough to get will one day face what you are now...

USAFA vs USNA ... decision stuck...

I would also look at quality of life issues, bases etc. once you are commissioned. I have been on the bases of both and from what I have seen the AF bases are superior to the other branches. Also, the Navy duty will more than likely keep you away from your home and family for longer periods of...
