    NROTC MO Color Blindness

Chain of Command No worries - talked to my DS last night and he is going to talk to the appropriate person at NCSU. I am really thinking that some of this is just the adjustment to both college and NROTC, but he does need to understand what his options are. Kinnem - yes, we are in North...

    NROTC MO Color Blindness

You guys are great I love this forum. I've only posted two or three times, but I have been reading it for three years. Kinnem - regarding your point number three, I also considered that as a possibility. In fact, I told him that probably everyone has a few second thoughts in the first few...

Question for you Marines out there. My son is a freshman midshipman at NC State, Marine option. He received the scholarship despite having "color vision deficiency". He knew aviation was going to be out for him, but now he is worried that his career options, even in the Marines v. Navy, are...

We are in the exact same mode, Cat57. From what I have read here, you shouldn't worry too much about the portal.

@semperfi50: Yes, it was a 4-year. I am in North Carolina. Don't know which school yet. DS got into his first, fourth and fifth choices -- we are really hoping he is assigned to his first choice.

    NROTC Marine Option 2nd board

Good News My DS got a call today with good news - he received the NROTC MO scholarship! We are absolutely thrilled. I really want to thank the other posters on this site (Kinnem, etc) for all of their help and involvement here - I am sure many parents (like me) and candidates benefit from it.

    ROTC without scholarship

My DS is accepted into two schools so far, Univ of So Carolina and Auburn, and he wants to do NROTC-MO even if he doesn't receive a scholarship (so we have also been checking this out). Auburn requires you separately apply for the program by some date in June, I think - not sure about other...

    NROTC Scholarship Status Page

Never mind Good grief - it is probably lame to reply to your own message, but never mind. Now his status is back to "at Marine District for Board Selection". Other posts have commented not to read too much into the process posts on the site, and they are probably right.

    NROTC Scholarship Status Page

On Tuesday my DS's status page changed from "at local recruiter for initial processing" to something like "at Marine District for Board Selection". Today it is back to the "at local recruiter" page. Does this mean he wasn't selected for Board review? (He is a marine option candidate).
