    AFROTC Board Results

I was also one of the folks who didn't get selected, though the Captain at my school of choice saved my rear with telling me about the State Tuition Waiver system Illinois has for ROTC cadets. Definitely a must to go see the cadre at the schools you're applying to. I remember reading up about...

    ROTC State Tuition Waivers

Thanks for the info. UIUC is where I'll likely be going, so it's good to know that the waiver is a fairly sturdy scholarship. Again, heads up to the Illinois candidates who don't receive an HSSP. The priority deadline given to me was April 1st, so those re-boarded should probably apply in case...

    ROTC State Tuition Waivers

I've recently visited the AFROTC detachment where I'll most likely be going and found that Illinois offers in-state tuition waivers to enrolled cadets of ANY branch. These waivers cover 100% of tuition costs, and recipients don't have to contract. The officer I spoke with said that they're still...

    AFROTC Scholarship

What major are you trying to go for? The AF gives out 80% of their scholarships to tech majors. That doesn't leave much room for non-tech. Regardless of chances, you should apply if you can. Your odds of getting one are zero if you don't.

Nothing yet. Is there an email you receive when your result is given, or is it just on the portal?

    Dodmerb question

Are you in good physical shape? I'm fairly sure they'd do a bodyfat percentage measurement if you're over maximum. How much over are you?

When will the Jan. AFROTC Board Results be Released?

I was also in the January board, and the email we got for the interviews stated results would have been released yesterday. However, that seemed to be delayed by the first's board release this week. The app still states a mid-February release, so maybe next week?

    AFROTC Board Results

I was one of the ones who didn't make it to the first board in time, and my app still states the same "board will meet during January, results released mid-February" message. So I guess these must only be the 1st board's results? The eligibility email I got for the interview stated that the...

AFROTC and Me: The Non-technical applicant

Pima, I'll defenitely be taking at least the ACT again in September, and I think having a go at the SAT wouldn't hurt either. Can you edit those scores after you turn in the package though? As for the PFT, I've been following format. The hardest part for me is to get into that great...

AFROTC and Me: The Non-technical applicant

Alrighty, I'm back and a bit more researched/thought out. Thank's to all for the inputs, since they've given me lots to think about. After looking into some previous year's posts from the 2012 applicants, I now understand as to why guessing a chance is fairly pointless. I've decided to focus...

AFROTC and Me: The Non-technical applicant

Thank you Packer. Everyone in this thread has been extremely helpful, and I REALLY appreciate it. @nick, Really? I'm a bit surprised. I thought mastery of a language would be a huge edge... Have you seen a lot of native speakers? And has mastery helped you any past that scholarship...

AFROTC and Me: The Non-technical applicant

Bullet, Your posts basically summed up as to why I'm approaching the scholarships the way I am. Even though I have honors in math/science, I hate both of them with a passion. I can't see myself having to go through that every day. I'm one of those guys Packer was speaking of, and I know...

AFROTC and Me: The Non-technical applicant

DeskJockey, Although I know it would boost my chances dramatically, I have absolutely no interest in the engineer fields. As for the major, Air Force wants(and requires) a foreign language major for a foreign major scholarship. It's by no means "easy", nor am I just taking a breeze through...

AFROTC and Me: The Non-technical applicant

Hi Pima, thanks for replying! 1. My bad, from the website they said it broke down 80/20 by tech/language, then very little out to anything else. 2. I have a fair sized school, and to be honest not sure about class rank myself. However, I'm glad to hear that they'll look at profile and...

AFROTC and Me: The Non-technical applicant

Hello ladies and gents of the forum! Firstly, I apologize for posting something that many have probably asked before, and thank you all for your time. My question refers to the AFROTC Scholarships, which I've stumbled upon about 2 months ago whilst searching SMC's. I've noticed that they are...
