    VP Nom on Wait List

I only have a Presidential nomination but I evidently was not selected under that category. The VP nomination was officially added to my portal on April 17th, 11 days after I received notification of my wait list status, that's why I'm so curious as to its significance.

    VP Nom on Wait List

Hello all, I was placed on the wait list for the class of 2019 back in early April. However, to my surprise, I received notification of a Vice Presidential nomination in the mail Saturday. Although I am honored by this recognition, I am wondering whether or not this will have an impact on my...

Hello all, I am currently on the CO 2019 WL and was wondering if I should wait until I receive final word before starting my app for next year. Thanks in advance for the help.

    TWE

If it's true that some rejection letters were mailed on 3/25 and some are still unaware of their status, that could possibly mean that there are appointments yet to arrive as well. Just food for thought, here's to hoping!

    Letters of recommendation

I did it the end of my junior year to give my teachers a heads up! They were nice enough to write them before the end of June and I was able to complete my app early because of that! Just be polite and tell them what you aspire to do.

    No Sports or ECs

He'll probably have more problems getting in to MIT honestly. MIT rejects perfect academic records all the time and they scrutinize activities. Based on the 2400 and 36, I think Navy will make room :)

    Fluff Classes

Would USNA look down upon an applicant taking a class like economics or business as opposed to a second math or science course? I will be taking BC Calculus AP and AP Chemistry next (senior) year.

    USNA Chances

1700 to 1850 is normally not good enough to get accepted if you aren't a recruited athlete. To be safe you'll want to try to get as close to 1400 Math and Critical Reading as possible. Also, getting in the top 10% of your class would be golden!

    USNA Chances

If I were you I would work on your GPA a little. 3.67 is good but given how competitive USNA is you don't want to take any chances. Lookin' good though!

    Princeton NROTC

Saw this on the Princeton website. Thought it was pretty interesting to see how they are finally following in the footsteps of Harvard, Yale, and Columbia. I'll bet that all of the Ivies will have some form of ROTC or a cross-town affiliation like Princeton within a few years...

    SATs, GPA, Sports

Impressive scores! Since you are applying for the class of 2019, you should definitely retake the test and try to improve that reading score as much as you can! Obviously, you've got half of your SAT score made so you only have to prepare for one subject. Wish i was in your shoes.... 710 Math...

    U.S. Naval Academy: Do I have a chance? :)

Academics and leadership look really good. I have a lot of respect for founding science Olympiad. That's a tough club to make. However, you can't predict SAT scores based off practice tests. They are totally different things. Take that from personal experience :p
