That contradicts what they stated shortly after the 20th, which was that there was another wave of appointments that would be coming the following week...which never came from what I can tell on this forum.

My son just went through nomination process this past fall. One of our senators also had no information online. A simple phone call to the senator's office, and he was sent a packet with all the required information and forms. Good luck.

Thank you. I assumed that is how the types of scholarships are awarded out of those applicants who receive a scholarship of any type. I am wondering about those who apply and are awarded any scholarship versus those who don't earn a scholarship at all.

I've seen the breakdown for the types of scholarships, but can't find the overall stats on how many students apply versus how many get scholarships of any type. Also, is the competition tied to geographical area as it is for the SAs. Any help on those questions would be appreciated.

Do cadets need to have their own health insurance once attending? Also, for USAFA in particular, after reporting at end of June, when is their first opportunity to talk to family? And their first opportunity to visit with family?

We are in MA also, and my son was deferred in early action too. It was not our understanding that lack of nominations at that time was the reason for the deferral. (He has 3 now) I believe a majority of MOCs from many states have a similar timeline for announcing nominations, so I doubt that...

I know there have been many discussions on this topic...but DS knew he had MOC nomination about a month ago. We enjoyed that news and didn't think much about the applications outstanding to our senators, since at least he had a nom. Now, tonight, he got phone calls from BOTH senator offices...

I thought official deadline for a complete application was 2/28? DS still has to do CFA as well, and it's been delayed a few times bc of illness and schedule conflicts with phys Ed teacher.

Just out of curiosity...do MOCs always stick to the same nominating system? If they usually do competitive slate, is that how they have to do nominees every year? Or do they sometimes change to principal?

Thanks for the replies! DS has a congressional nomination and is on final steps of application. I'm just frustrated that it seems to work out that weighted GPA, accounting for all the honors and AP classes, isn't counting for much.
