Opportunity to Ski or Snowboard as a Doolie

You guys did last semester, yes. But this semester no, unless your squad has been lax on this.

    Question about Deviated Septum

No, I applied and got disqualified medically. So I got the surgery and became qualified. I don't know about the waiver process because I went ahead and got the surgery. I'm now a cadet here, so don't worry- I finished applying and got in.

    Class of 2020 Boots

Most cadets here have Nike's or Rocky's for the school year because they are lightweight. And yes, the Class of 2019 was the first class to be allowed to wear them during basic. However, just a warning that if you bring them and if they are allowed, know that the cadre will notice that you have...

Opportunity to Ski or Snowboard as a Doolie

This year doolies have limits on the number of passes they have- 6 I think is the number. These can be used on weekends that are not training (silver) weekends. Plus, finding an upperclassman to let you borrow their car for an entire day or weekend to take to the mountains is pretty hard, since...

    Question about Deviated Septum

I had this exact issue regarding a deviated septum. I did get medically disqualified when applying; however, I got the surgery to fix it and all was fine. They actually were in the process of trying to get a waiver approved, but I figured it would be better to fix the problem and not have to...

    2021 Hopeful Applicant, Advice?

I'm a cadet here right now, and although it's good to be on multiple teams or be a part of multiple clubs, USAFA looks for leaders. So make sure you are trying for team captain and president of one of the clubs!

    Appointee Visit

I'm currently here at USAFA and from what I have heard, appointee visits are still a go for this year. However, they don't give that much notice and I'm not sure when they start. My senior year I didn't go because I knew I was coming here anyways and felt that it wouldn't make much of a...

    USAFA Wing strength?

I just looked and even on USAFA's website it mentions "Over 4000 cadets..."

    USAFA Wing strength?

They always admit more than 1000 freshman, knowing some will drop out. I think the 4000 number is not a hard limit- so, they aren't going to kick people out if they are a little above.

    Application to USAFA

No, it's totally fine. I wanted to do everything possible to get in as well, but now that I'm accepted, superrrr relieved. But I would definitely suggest trying to get leadership positions in those activities you are involved in (band, football, wrestling), study for the ACT/ SAT to get good...

    What My Dad Said

Thought this might get a few laughs... I'm going to be a part of the Class of 2018. My dad is a Master Sergeant in the Air National Guard, and I told him yesterday, "Dad, when I graduate, you're going to have to salute me." He said "Nope, I'm retiring before then."

    High School Awards Day

Okay! Did you have to tell your ALO you received an appointment, or did he/she already know?

    High School Awards Day

It also helps that my ALO Officer is retired, but that still doesn't mean his schedule is not busy.

    High School Awards Day

I'll invite him to recognize it, if his schedule permits. (in a formal letter of course) If not, it's okay. I was just wondering.

Does anyone know if USAFA sends someone to recognize appointees at high school awards day?
