    Worried about Plebe Summer.

My guess if you only showed up with a most likely "irritated" wrist then perhaps a chit may be given but I don't think they'll send you home over it. I had a pain like this a few months back, iced, rested, and, stretched it and it was gone in just several days.

    USNA I-Day bag preference

I plan on bringing a small NRA sling bag. However it is in ACU pattern. Will detailers put me down for Army pattern bag? Haha

Rest or try to get in shape?

Swimming would be your very best option. I feel as if many soon to be plebes are leaving swimming out of their workouts, it is the Navy, be comfortable in deep water.

    USNA Clubs Info

Same here. Although I'm afraid Varsity swimming will not give me any time for such activities since these extra-curriclulars you mention are time consuming as well I would believe.

Highly recommend The Trident by Jason Redman. Amazing individual and an amazing leader that learned the hard way.

Patient Registration Form and Appointee Spectacle Information Form?

Yeah I forgot to send my immunization papers. Hoping a few days post due date is okay.

    D3 swimming?

A question I would ask is do you plan on perhaps swimming on the men's team at Navy? If so, I would go D3 and swim to gain more competitive experience and maybe become able to get recruited. Swimming will give you solid work for overall fitness so the CFA shouldn't be too bad. Also always try...

    Injuries are driving me nuts

All I can tell you is you better not be running on roads everyday. Knee pain typically comes from hard surface running. Try sand or dirt trails. Other than that you are unfortunately losing training time, running that is, if I were you I would hop on a bike (probably a static one) to give my...

2018 plebes --Do yourself a favor

What saddens me is the cynicism and arrogance some Mids seem to embody when replying to some of the tweets.

Current junior wanting to know where I stand

To usna2019?, You should really look at getting your ACT at least a 31 composite or higher. Also take the SAT. I will be swimming for Navy's swim team and would tell you that you should begin filling out recruit questionnaires for polo and swimming, that is if you plan on competing in one...

    Branch Differences

I know I am not the wisest on this one, in fact, far from it, but from what I've heard from enlisted personnel of both is that your gear and resources may be a bit nicer in the Army due to the larger budget, yet the discipline of subordinates is usually of a higher standard in the Marines. Yet...

    Vision Restrictions for surgery

A Firstie I meant on one of my visits said he received PRK prior to his SEAL cruise. He has selected EOD as his service so I am wondering if PRK is an option for SpecWar or SpecOps not just pilot training. I would figure it is or is not, and if it is not, the Firstie must have had poor enough...

    U.S. Naval Academy: Do I have a chance? :)

My only advice is to make sure you possess strong grades in the rest of your AP classes and take both the SAT and ACT. Apply to all available nomination sources as well. When the essays and interviews come, show off your desire to attend and to serve but be humble. The rest of your resume...

    My chances based on stats?

Where is your BFE?! Your package seems to be very strong, perhaps the run could have been a bit quicker(not a game changer by any means), may I ask what district of Maine you are in? I would figure 1st but I feel like 2nd would hold little competition. Usually having Calculus and higher level...

I would say your best bet is to go ahead and either email or call Coach Cooksey to touch base. Go to the Coaching Staff tab and just scroll down until you find Coach Cooksey and his contact info.

For Anyone Considering Varsity Athletics At USNA

My first question is what sport do you play? I plan on swimming for Navy in the fall and love the atmosphere of Bancroft and the guys on the team. First off, is it a good thing to have these preconceived connections to upperclassmen? Does every mid, whether NARP or athlete, do the same...
