    On campus scholarships for ROTC

I am by no means an expert in this subject, and there are several ROOs on this board who are far more knowledgeable than me. I think they tend to wait because they are only allotted so much money for scholarships each year and until the last board has met and offers not only gone out, but...

    Question about CFA

What JROTC extra curricular activities do you participate in? At many schools, Drill Team, Raiders, Marksmanship, and Orienteering award varsity letters. It has been a while since I looked at the application, but I think all those are now listed as options. Raiders did not use to be, but I...

    Account Inactive

I have a student who received a 4 year scholarship. She has not yet received her packet and has tried to log in to the DODMETS site. The site tells her that her account is inactive. It also tells her to call the CIV team. She has called several times and left messages. No one has contacted...

AROTC Scholarship Board - Week of March 23, 2020

The last board, the big thing was status change to Boarded. Some went to B/UC then Boarded. I have not seen anyone post about that status on this board. Both my students are B/UC. One from the last board, and one from this one.

    3rd Army ROTC Board

Is there anyone in the know on the board who knows if the travel restrictions will have any bearing on the 3rd AROTC board that is suppose to convene in less than 2 weeks? There is nothing posted on the application page, but I imagine that something will be done.

    Applicant #s for AROTC?

You have to be careful about what numbers you look at. Some people report the number as anyone who opens a file, whether or not they are qualified. Some of the numbers are only those that completed the application process and made it to the board.

    AROTC Board 2

I have not been following everyone, so forgive me if this has been answered already. Did anyone who was board on the first board and not get an offer (remained B/UC) get an offer on this board?

I am in a very unique and difficult place

Why do you think the scholarship transfer will be accepted? Transferring between Brigades is not always so cut and dry. The money allocated to your scholarship from the BDE that Princeton is in will be the same money that is used at Pepperdine. Brigades are not so flush with money these days...

    AROTC “Boarded” vs “Boarded/Underconsideration” Winners

When was the last time you checked yesterday? I was following one of my students and she went B/UC to Boarded to Winner in less than 15 minutes. Had I not checked in that time, it would have appeared that she went straight from B/UC to winner.

    AROTC Board 2

Of my two students that got offers today, the one that got a 4 year offer had a lower (by 80) SAT score. In my opinion, and obviously that of the board, she was a much more well rounded person and her whole person score was higher. The SAT/ACT is less than 1/5 of the WPS.

    AROTC Board 2

You would be taking a crap shoot. You would have to accept the 4 year, then apply for a transfer. If not approved, you would then either have to go to the 4 yr, or go to another school without a scholarship. A lot of times it boils down to which brigade the schools are in, the number of slots...

    AROTC Board 2

She will have 30 days to make a choice. Each cadet ( I will now call her cadet) is usually offered 3 choices. The offers are based on portal choices and availability of ROTC scholarship slots at the school. There is a way to transfer the scholarship. Transferring to a school in the same...

    AROTC Board 2

Sorry to hear that. Remember, it is a long journey. Not everyone gets there on the same path, but if being an Army Officer is what you want, then an Army Officer you can become.

2 out of 3 students are Winner. Other is B/UC. One 4 year and one 3 year (nursing). On to the third board for the 3rd.
