    TAMU NROTC outfits

I would take a look at Company G-1. I was their First Sergeant and CO while there.

    New Student Indoctrination (Summer 2019)

Current Ensign. SMC graduate, so maybe I like getting yelled at more than others lol. I wish I'd gotten to go to this program, I think it would have been a good experience. There's something about going through adversity like that you just can't learn through a normal experience. Talking...

    New Student Indoctrination (Summer 2019)

It's also good I think. It'll help the MIDNs understand a little better what their sailors went through, usually right after high school, when they showed up to Great Lakes

    New Student Indoctrination (Summer 2019)

I'm really sorry but reading through some of these comments amazes me. Getting yelled at by some MIDN (and maybe a few DIs) for 3 weeks at Great Lakes will be one of the least stressful parts of time in the military. I've only been in a little over a year but I would go back in a heartbeat to...

    Evaluations at CORTRAMID

If a MIDN performs significantly poorly at CORTRAMID his/her parent command can be contacted. Other than that it's a Navy vacation.

Anyone with insight about Band at the SMCs?

What I love about the A&M Band/Corps relationship is we might trash talk them within the ranks but you better believe we are going to close ranks around them if anyone else says anything. And definitely aren't going to be saying they are garbage on a forum! They are the Spirit of Aggieland...

Is it more competitive to get a 4 year scholarship (AROTC) at Texas A&M than say a regular non SMC

I wouldn't be concerned about contracting with them, either. It might be harder to get a 4 year, but I know a lot of people that got a 3.5/3 year. A&M is a great school so go for it!

    Outfits at TAMU

As the fine members of Corps recruiting say, "There is no bad outfit, you will love wherever you end up." I know L-1 was an all-male outfit while I was there and currently still is. An environment without any women is naturally going to be different than one with so that's something he needs to...

Need advice - CSM vs A&M

Also curious where your DS ended up. As an Aggie who recently graduated I always enjoy hearing about people who end up there in the Corps.

    JAX Sea trials cancelled

I never did Sea Trials, not even really sure what it's supposed to be. I do know Marines don't go to Mountain Warfare anymore because the Navy moved that money over to Sea Trials. So curious they don't have funding.

    School Uniform to ROTC interview?

My Army ROTC interview was over the phone. I can still remember the Colonel saying, "I have a box on the sheet for 'Personal Appearance'. I assume you dress well so I'm going to give you a 100 on that."

    NROTC questions

If you're serious about Special Warfare go to a school with a history of sending people to the SEAL or EOD teams/units. Often times knowing people in those communities can be one of the things that helps get you one of those coveted spots (assuming you are qualified in every other aspect). I'm...

    NROTC questions

I think maybe what the other poster meant is that the ROTC units each have their own specific number of scholarships that can be filled at their school. But yes, still a national board
