I no longer want to pursue a career as an officer, as it got in the way of my passion for teaching. I am considering enlisting in the Marine Reserves to follow both of my dreams. I want to attend the summer seminar to get an idea of what military life is like. Is this a bad way to go about it...

I'm not the biggest fan of English and deep analysis of writing, but I'm basically eligible for AP English next year. Should I try it? Do admissions look upon that favorably? I'm not exactly sure what the class entails and how I will perform.

Okay so I just received me request for information and it says that I can join after I have completed the 10th grade. If I'm planning on attending an academy, would I be able to sign up for the reserves after I finish the 10th grade? EDIT: I'm turning 16 this July

Scheduling classes has become a struggle due to unforeseen circumstances - do a lot of people take AP U.S. Government and Politics? EDIT: If I take the course in high school and pass the AP exam, can I validate it and lighten my course load in the future?

Do the academies open their applications the same day every year? How can I find out when NASS 2015 applications opens? I want to be prepared for when the day comes. EDIT: Also, does anyone know when USAFA 2015 pre-lim apps open as well?
