How can I improve myself for the application?

Hi! I'm a reapplication to the class of 2021 (also from NoVa.) I'm not sure if you have taken the SAT but I would strongly suggest taking it and submitting scores from both tests. At this point, the key to getting in is securing a nomination. You are well above the USNA academic/extracurricular...

Any appointments from the USNA for Virginia candidates?

I've been wondering the same thing. I looked through the appointments thread and only found 2 or 3 VA appointments, none of which were from my district (VA-10.) I'm hoping that maybe since my nomination came late in January, the slate may not have been reviewed yet. Anyway, no news is good news...

    VA Nomination?

I received mine to USNA on the 27th as well. Is there any way to tell how we're ranked? The letter said nothing about principle/alternate.

    VA Nomination?

Has anyone else heard back from Congresswoman Comstock (VA-10)?

    2020 Appointments

Does anyone know what the correlation is between the time we submit our application and the time we recieve a yes/no from USNA? My portal has said "complete pending review" with a nomination for close to two months now. Just wondering if there is a general time line or if it's random.

    About I-day

I believe July 1 is I day. Here's the link to last year's schedule. It seems like there is parents meetings and such so they might want to stay. :) http://www.usna.edu/PlebeSummer/iday.php

    VA Nomination?

I heard back from Senator Kaine (bad news) and I haven't heard back from Senator Warner yet. Seeing as they don't double nominate, I'm not going to worry, however does this apply to all nominations or just the applicants in the Kaine/Warner pool? Last week I received a presidential nomination...

    US Naval Sea Cadet Corps

Well, each squadron is a little different. In my squadron, I was interviewing cadets as new as 6 months for certain positions (mostly supply, admin, public affairs, or PT officers) Check out gocivilairpatrol.com to find a unit near you. You can sit in on a few meetings and ask questions. Sent...

    US Naval Sea Cadet Corps

Hi :) I'm a candidate for the class of 2020 and I would recommend Civil Air Patrol. I've been in for nearly 5 years and I've found that they have a broader span of opportunities for leadership as well as leadership programs. Sent from my SM-G360V using Tapatalk
