    AFROTC ICSP 2019

I don't think anyone here sits on the board but ICSP was suspended but reinstated last spring after AETC received additional funding.

    AFROTC Filler Classes

"3.12.8. Provide an academic degree plan that demonstrates their ability to commission in their programmed fiscal year. Cadets must recertify their academic plan in the fall term each year." I'm guessing as long as you demonstrate that you can commission by a certain time, you can take filler...

    USUSHS (AFROTC)

If a cadet applies for USUSHS, they essentially will attend the university upon commissioning with no charge, etc in exchange for a 7-year active duty service commitment, correct? Does this add upon the initial 4-years after commissioning which means 11 years total after graduation from USUSHS...

    [AFROTC] Thank You!

As I wrap up my AS400 year as a cadet in AFROTC, I just wanted to thank everyone here! I'm a little embarrassed looking back at all my posts back as an underclassman and even some as an upperclassman! But I will say, thank you to everyone here for giving me a straight forward answer and not...

GPA to become a developmental engineer

Congrats! I also got 62E and I'm also an EE :) In general though, from my det at least, every engineer who applied for 62E got 62E. GPAs ranged from 2.8-3.9

    AFROTC PDTs

I'm pretty sure this information is out to many detachments but PDTs (Professional Development Training) is now mandatory for commissioning. For current GMCs, they will be required to do 1 as a GMC and 1 as a POC. For AS300s, they are required to do 1 PDT, and for AS400s, they are exempt. How...

Air Force Type 2 with School Scholarship

I received a scholarship from AFROTC and then later on received a scholarship from my school in which they just let me pocket it. Another thing I noticed is when it comes to tuition payment and at times stipend... AFROTC is usually a little late, but it will be taken care of.

    Changing From AFROTC to NROTC

Cannot agree more with @MidCakePa Nothing is guaranteed, and a lot of it goes to service before self. Even if you did qualify medically for Air Force Pilot, there's still a lot you have to go through to even get selected and hey, you might end up as an RPA or something other than a pilot. Just...

    Parental Consent Required?

I was 17 when I first joined AFROTC and they had some paperwork my parents had to sign. Luckily, my parents were able to stop by the det when they helped me move in.

    Afrotc Type 1 Scholarship Stats

ICSP is in college and yes you can get it as early as spring of freshman year, that's what I got. My first semester I got a 3.8 GPA. If you get a HSSP, you can bring it to any school, it is not school tied like other branches.

    Afrotc Type 1 Scholarship Stats

ICSP is typically dependent on your performance at the detachment you decide to attend. I got one in San Diego but interviewed for my HSSP in Sacramento, so I wouldn't waste my time flying to your school just for an interview in hopes that you will get an ICSP as a backup if you don't win an...

    AFROTC FTP

Depends on the detachment. FT is a joke anyways, just wait until you get to UPT. Regardless, I think some dets have an issue of being too lenient on FTP cadets. Some cadets who graduated SFT I felt like definitely shouldn't have.

    Multiple questions about possible AFROTC

I agree with Humey. Pick a college that you are in love with that has an ROTC unit. & if you don't like the unit or the way it is structured, do something about it. Like they say, if you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change the way you think about it. Good luck!

Chances for an Air Force ROTC scholarship?

You definitely need to get those pushups and situps up. Do 100 before bed every night. If you can barely do 5, you need to work harder to work up. Your chances at the moment are 0 if you can't pass the PFA. Get your run time down as well. It's true, non-tech, especially non-rated is a rough...

    AFROTC SFT/LEAD Failure. What now?

I do agree, there are some people who I see contracted / commission that shouldn't. However, I do understand why some people fail GLPs... I don't know about 3 in a row but depending on the evaluator, some can look for very specific things.

    Career Starter ROTC

Thanks everyone for the responses! I never learned any of this so I am trying to take it all in and do my research. To answer your question as of now. 1. I already have a car. It's all paid off for so no need to put any money towards that. 2. Currently, I live off campus and all my furniture...

    Career Starter ROTC

Thanks for your input Pima. I'm still young and inexperienced so it's good to see what others have to say! I'll take more time with figuring out what to do with it. I was thinking it was pretty smart but didn't consider the other things as well. Thank you for the advice.

    Career Starter ROTC

Good afternoon everyone, I was unsure of what forum to post this on being that it's somewhat of a financial question. I'm an upcoming AS400 in AFROTC and of course, am contracted. I'm in the process of opening a USAA account. I just have a few questions and would like your inputs. I have...
