    Senior Class Schedule

Keep in mind that West Point, or any other college for that matter, has no way of knowing which class is harder. Different people have different interests and skill sets so what may be a difficult class for them, may be exponentially easier for another person. Additionally, different courses...

    Sports

Do what you enjoy. Seriously, don't let applying to West Point consume your life. You're still in high school, and should enjoy it while it lasts. If you enjoy swimming, continue to swim in the offseason. It'll make you happier, and you can start to work towards earning accolades later down the...

SFAS (Special Forces Assessment and Selection)

Don't go to USMA if you want to kick in doors in the Special Forces. Enlist or do more research on life as officer outside of West Point...from my understanding, very few go into SF, and those who do are not kicking in doors (at least for very long before getting pulled to a staff position).

When does the admissions panel meet?

Thanks so much! I'm glad I got my packet done and 3'Q letter before the end of October then. The waiting game sure is difficult. At this point, is it mostly principal nominations receiving appointments?

When does the admissions panel meet?

When does the admissions board meet to make their decisions of appointment winners? Is it weekly/what day? How do they decide which district to review? Also, will they wait until all nominees from a district have a completed packet before making a decision on the slate "winner"? Thanks.

    First wave of BFE's?

Do you know if your DS was a primary slate winner, or is a recruited athlete? Did he have a letter of assurance?

Will I be able to edit the Candidate Activities Record after submission?

So when I letter after my fall sport, or earn any special honors, I'll be able to notify them of the change? I want to get my application in early, but don't want to submit something that isn't the most accurate representation of me.

Nomination Essay as a Candidate Statement

My senators' nomination essay prompt is just about equivalent to one of the West Point candidate statement prompts. Would it be ok to just modify the nominations essay for the West Point application? Or would you all recommend writing an entirely new essay? Thanks!

Do I need to make weight for the DODMERB?

So do you know at what point I would need to make weight? Just trying to plan out weight for the football season.

Do I need to make weight for the DODMERB?

Is the DODMERB where we have to make weight/body fat? Is it just the regular Army standards?

    Submit new CFA?

I think the key word is yet... Once you input the POC, I think the packet will become available. Just my guess.

    Submit new CFA?

Well they were pretty adamant at my session that even if we passed, we should take it again to improve our scores. Is the option just not available to you? On my portal it has a place to enter in the point of contact for who will be administering the CFA, and I assume they are the ones who...

Will I be able to edit the Candidate Activities Record after submission?

I will letter in football at the end of the season, and my winter sport hasn't named captains yet. I would like to submit my application early, but also want to reflect the most competitive candidate I can be. Will I be able to edit it once I submit it with the counselor email?

    Submit new CFA?

Interesting. My portal (I went to SLE) is open to a new CFA.
  15. L

    Submit new CFA?

This is incorrect. At SLE, we were told that the CFA administered at West Point was a "freebie" and encouraged us all to submit a new one once the portal opened.

    Special Forces

I've heard a lot about this, but I'm not sure how much is true. Basically, what I've been told is that if your dream is to be in the Special Forces, then maybe West Point isn't for you. As an officer, you won't be the one kicking in doors, but rather telling people which door to kick in. Maybe...

Does anybody have a complete list of MIADs available to Cadets?

I was just curious as to some different options Cadets have, and how many slots may be available for each.

    JROTC Nomination

Why don't you just work to accomplish all of the goals? Leadership is working with others to accomplish the mission.

    Application for SLE

Have you self reported your SAT scores? That is all they will look at for SLE from everything I have heard. "Official" scores are not yet part of the process. Best of luck, and hope to see you at SLE!

    Application for SLE

I provided a link in a previous post. All of your assumptions (right and wrong) are covered on that page, and I advise you to read it.
