USMMA to Coast Guard active duty?

USMMA graduates can apply through a special commissioning program to enter Coast Guard (active duty). The program is called MARGRAD. Here's a link with information. The program has limited slots, but the only competition are the maritime graduates. It's hard to find information on this...

    Veterans at SMCs

"prior-service", "National Guard"....lol Just giving you a hard time man. I spoke with the Citadel in this aspect. They truly like veterans on campus, but they give 'em breathing space. Which is good. If I were, I'd apply to all military colleges you're interested in, and see who gives you an...

    Marine ROTC

The Citadel, in my opinion. However, all direct to the same route: a commission as a 2nd LT. In the end, I would take what's cheapest.

    Anyone accepted to Norwich?

Accepted into Nursing program...again (applied last year). Although I can't make up my mind, whether Air Force ROTC or Army ROTC. Today's money pot is bigger in financial aid. Was awarded $92,000. for 4 years. I doubt I'll be able to attend in 2016, since I'm deployed.

    VMI to Coast Guard

Don't forget you can also apply to their scholarship as VMI falls into one the eligible schools. Google CSPI. It's not very competitive, and definitely worth a shot.

Transfer from Active Duty Army to USMMA

I hope it's not too late and I can share some knowledge. Your buddy will need to read the Army Regulation, and become familiar with it, because his chain of command will have no idea how to handle it. Here goes: 1. Your buddy can submit a DD368 to be released, if appointed, and sent to the...

What SMC is the least physically challenging?

Virginia Tech, it has the biggest civillian population. However, it truly depends on the branch's ROTC. Marine ROTC will be harsher than Air Force ROTC no matter the college.

PCS to West Point from Active Duty

The closest bit of information on separations for USMAPS/USMA is AR 612-205. Though, it's just general information (read it anyway, Section 2, it's short). Orders will be issued to you. Reading over it, it appears to me Terminal/Transition Leave should be allowed. Though, you can't take...

Norwich University Mountain Cold Weather Company

Does anyone one know if the MCWC sends cadets to the Arctic course in Alaska? That extreme mountaineering course makes Vermont's mountain course looks like baby food. That's where you earn the Arctic tab.

Reserves can still compete in the OML. If you're under a GRFD or DEDNG scholarship, you're stuck in the guard/reserves.

    AROTC Nursing Winners?

Ginko, Short answer: yes. Long answer: The money comes from different pots. The AROTC scholarship is funded by Cadet Command. The health proffessions scholarship is funded\managed by Army's AMEDD. Every year, many premed students opt for educational delay after commissioning. In order to...

    AROTC Nursing Winners?

Texas is a great place to study medicine. Fort Sam Houston is where I studied to be an Army Medic, I miss it! Nurse officers go through BOLC there, its a death by powerpoint course. Another scholarship he can opt for is the GRFD or DEDNG scholarship. They are being handed out like candy...
