My appointment letter said that it was "on behalf of the superintendent" does this mean I was charged from the national pool? Or was the phone call from my congressman telling me of the appointment, indicative that I am on his slate? I'm thrilled regardless, just curious.

So does that mean they are no longer sending out conditional LOA's for those applicants still in the hunt who failed dodmerb?

Fortunately for our OP I think it is even more significant than eligible for an appointment. I was explicitly told that the waiver process for USNA is ONLY for those applicants who are about to be appointed

I personally failed dodmerb as well and through talking on the phone with the USNA medical board head, USNA only grants waivers to those candidates "in line for an appointment" (probably NAPS appointments aswell) so congrats!

I posted this in a below thread on principal noms but felt it was kind of piling on. As mentioned by an poster in that thread, If a principal nom isn't found 3Q'd, then their appointment goes to the "next in line" on the slate. Just curious if this thought process also applies for those...

From what I understand there is a difference between a candidates file not being looked at and evaluated (creation of WCS), and being reviewed for an offer of appointment. Perhaps you have a WCS but due to being in the national pool you have not been considered for evaluation yet.
