Do senate Noms carry more weight in getting an appointment?

The more noms the better, but they are all weighed the same in admissions. It just gives them more flexibility. I would say that because of the size of a Senator's constituency, those noms seem to go to the strongest applicants...so that is a good thing. With the LOA, he should see a MOC nom...

    Nominations...Applications...and the Waiting...Argh!!!

He's hanging tough. I am sure he is ready for the next week to fly by, but so far...he loves it. Even as a Doolie. He found out on Jan 8 last year. If anyone is wondering what set him apart for early decision, I simply don't know. Everything on his application was well balanced, but nothing...

    Nominations...Applications...and the Waiting...Argh!!!

I don't know how often they meet. But. if you stick around the forums... you'll know when they meet. You will start seeing waves of appointments. Don't worry too much about the Early Action. We learned last year that an Early Action decision could mean that they decide to consider you in the...

    Nominations...Applications...and the Waiting...Argh!!!

That all looks fantastic. Keep it up. I am sure you have been looking at all the advice on the forums. There are some extremely knowledgeable folks on here (Pima, Christcorp, Fencersmother all come to mind), read and heed everything they have written. Grades, SAT/ACT scores are extremely...

    Did I pass CFA?

You won't see a notification on the portal if you passed, only if you are ruled ineligible or need to retest. Those numbers look good. My son was even with you or below your numbers in everything but the mile run. He submitted in October to meet the Early Action deadline, but stressed that he...

    Nominations...Applications...and the Waiting...Argh!!!

A lot has changed in the past year, and I haven't even logged into the forums in many months. That's because my trip is over....but yours is just beginning. I just wanted to pop in and give a word of encouragement to all these fantastic young men and women (and the parents) that are on this...

    Plan B after appointment

Thanks for the responses. Things were getting a little sketchy as he received a type-7 ROTC scholarship, which limited him to resident tuition. His back up school is out-of-state, but he also had an in-state alternate back up. Then we (the family) got orders to AK, so he was looking a Plan...

    Plan B after appointment

How long do you hold on to Plan B after accepting an appointment? ROTC scholarship is waiting and back up schools are calling. DS is sweating an injury or something that would cancel his appointment. Three more weeks of baseball until bubble wrap goes on.

    Air Force Academy chances

Looks great so far. Keep up the hard work. Maybe run track or find another varsity sport. Keep an eye out for leadership positions and volunteer opportunities. It wouldn't hurt to do something significant this summer, i.e. Summer job, Boys State, summer internship, etc... Best of luck to you!
