For DS : Lewis, Sec NAV from fleet, major to be determined, NC

DS received appointment this morning from fleet. This is his 3rd time applying. They sent a guy from deck dept to give him the letter. We are from NC not sure of major yet. Dream is Special Forces Seal or EOD. He already has a year of college from a top military prep school.

So I just read in another thread where a candidate saw their appointment in the portal before BFE arrived. Can someone tell me where this is?? Is it the application page from USNA.edu?? My son is candidate from the fleet so we are not clear on how he will be informed. Thank you

I was told his application looks really good because he has a year of college. He took 36 hours and has an A in Calculus. Applying from the fleet is totally different than the first 2 times he applied.

DS applying from fleet. 3rd time applicant. Gets email yesterday "Do you have any certificate of achievements, awards, community volunteers? scan and send them to me. thanks" So I know this means his application has been reviewed. Yes he is 3Q and has Sec Nav nomination. Is this a good sign???

I completely understand nomination and appointment. This is our 3rd time to this rodeo. I would like to have some knowledge of how many get an appointment versus how many complete a qualified application from the fleet.

Usnabgo08 I am reading those numbers the way you are. It appears the enlisted spots are not all being taken. My DS meets all requirements just waiting on DODMERB which he has passed the prior 2 times. I am praying that I am understanding correctly and he should receive appointment this time around.

Does anyone know how many spots are available this year from prior enlisted direct appointment to USNA?? and spots for prior enlisted to NAPS?? I recall from 2012 and 2013 it was 175 to USNA. I just read a letter on this forum regarding procedures for NAPS and prior enlisted I day procedures...

Thank you all for the encouragement he revived the SEC NAV nomination on Feb 2. The CO and the 2 recommendations from the Chiefs are excellent. 100% support. The SEC NAV nomination came 2 days after paper submitted. High school and all test scores are good. He is the only person on his ship...
