Normally takes a while... between the Congressman / woman's office sending the nomination over and the school processing it, there is potential for quite a delay. Don't be afraid to call the admissions department and ask if they have received it!

I'm KP 2021... Didn't play sports and your SAT is about where mine was. One thing that would greatly benefit your application is showing leadership positions in all of your activities (president, section leader, treasurer, drum major, small group leader, ETC...). Don't take Mr.2020's advice too...

Do your best and don't worry about minimums / averages. Just give it your all...

Current mid here... you want something strong and reliable. A digital G-shock is always a good go to. Watches take a beating while out at sea. Choose something you dont mind getting wet, dirty, oily, scratched, or dropped.

^^^ Good point Mr. 2020... Quite a few people get behind on sea projects. To answer the OP, all swim / dive members are given priority B-Split status over non-athletic midshipmen.

Lots of opinions on here, so I'll keep it short. Your DS will not need to decide on a major until after 1st trimester. All plebes take both engine and deck courses during that time. He will be able to decide then by experiencing the classes and talking to midshipman. He shouldn't worry about it...

Although costly, buying the computer from the NEX has its benefits... it can be fixed by DOIT for free (had my screen replaced), and imaging/re-imaging goes smoother on school-issued machines. In all fairness, they are nice laptops.

You didn't note if you are male or female... Male: You definitely need to re-do it... Raise those push-ups into at least the 50's and get at least 7+ pull ups. Female: You're fine for USMMA

Take challenging courses... you already have a nice GPA, so a few AP or IB classes would boost that transcript aspect. Continue working on your SAT / ACT (TAKE BOTH). Try to get leadership (captain) positions on your sports that you play. Take practice CFA's and make sure you can pass with ease...

Many congressional offices do not nominate their maximum to USMMA... call around and explain your situation. You may get lucky. Calling admissions is a good idea as well. They know all of the ropes. Best of luck.
