My son is USAFA 2020 and was a late appointment (5/12). He had already committed to a civilian school and just called admissions and told them the change of plan. Admissions totally understood and wished him well...but did NOT refund our $700 deposit! LOL!

Hey everyone! I cannot stress this enough...even if you get a TWE, PLEASE please please do not give up all hope until BCT starts! My 2020 son was a late appointment and I personally know of at least five 2020 cadets that were all late appointments as well! Once appointees start declining...

@HudK9 - my daughter does not have a varsity letter, nor does she participate in any sport besides dance (which, yes, I know isn't considered a "sport.") She was also asked to take her CFA twice (her run time was initially a little slow, but she was able to really bring it up.) My son is USAFA...

Thanks so much! It's been absolutely crazy going through the past few weeks with my son and the expedited graduation! This just made it slightly crazier! LOL!

I think the waitlist is the hardest because USAFA doesn't "technically" tell you that it even exists! My son was all set to move on with his Plan B and literally had the rug pulled out from under him! Keep the faith! It's not over until it's over!!!

My daughter received a call from our congressman today that she is being offered an appointment. Good luck, everyone! Don't give up! My son is USAFA 2020, received a TWE in early April, and was offered an appointment about 6 weeks later. Until BCT starts, anything is possible!!!

And I have to tell you, I had read that it COULD happen, but the TWE letter was so very "final." We had cut our losses and moved on! When I reminded my son last night that we knew there was a chance this could happen, his reply was, Yeah, but I didn't think it would happen for ME!

After being a part of the TWE massacre last month, getting a phone call yesterday afternoon from our Congressman that my son was receiving an appointment left us completely stunned. And it's officially "official"...his portal was updated today!!! We are beyond proud, ecstatic...
