    DoDMERB Consultants

I have not been on this forum for quite awhile since my son was applying to WP(class of 2020). I now have another son interested in SA ‘s and was going to reach out to Dr. Merchant. He helped us about a year ago with an FAA clearance issue. I’m dismayed to hear how unresponsive he has been. In...

    Letter of Suspense

Not this exact scenario, but my DS was declined, opened a new application for 2021 and received a call from admissions asking why he did that, as his file was still open. So they do have glitches - just call them.

    Admissions still meeting?

DS just received notice today that medical waiver was granted - waiver board met yesterday. So if admissions only meets on Tuesdays as well, would he not hear anything before next week?

Anyone ever had their rejection withdrawn?

My DS received a rejection on Friday in his portal, followed by a TWE in the mail. He had been waiting on a medical waiver, and we assumed that spots were being filled by candidates who were 3q'ed. He went ahead and requested an application for the Class of 2021. Today he received a call from...

    ROTC and college selection

Sorry, there was a typo and I see why my question doesn't make sense. I was just wondering if you spoke to the Batillion officer at the school, or if you talked to the ROTC governing body, whatever the proper name is for that. But I think @5Day explained it.

    ROTC and college selection

Thanks, yes, he has already spoken to both battalion and admissions office at 2 schools at which he was awarded a scholarship. Unfortunately the Battalion at either one doesn't seem to have much influence, and the admissions offices said ROTC doesn't have any bearing on their decision so we...

The Waiver Wait puts you in distress

I I feel you pain - in the same boat with added stress of having a ROTC scholarship but not having an admission decision from the school yet. Hang in there!

    ROTC and college selection

Yes, his College counselor called the 2 schools he still has to hear from and told them about scholarships. DOA says they don't take it into account-I can't fathom why - but will add to his file. So they know, but may or may not do any good. The whole college process in general makes no sense...

    NROTC & College Admissions

My DS is in the same situation with 2 schools . I posted about this and the advice given was as above -for him to reach out to the schools ROTC offices, which he did. They both said they didn't really have influence with the admissions office. But it was good for him to make a connection with...

    ROTC and college selection

And from experience, I'd try to apply to more than one. DS was rejected at what should have been a safety school, possibly because given his profile, they probably thought he saw it as such. Ironically, it was a school he really wanted to go to. It s a crapshoot, no two ways about it.
