My son got his TWE shortly after I posted earlier. The hardest part is not that he got one, but not knowing why. I realize they don't have time to show what is lacking, but he is left not knowing where things went wrong and what specifically he can do if he does decide to reapply.

My DS is still in the running and this is excruciating. He has a full ride to a very good second option but USAFA has been his dream since 4th grade. We do have questions on his best plan if he does get a TWE. Essentially, ROTC, try again for an appointment next year, or both?

I was just looking at our list of appointments which had a little over 100 names. That would mean 1000 appointments have been given out, leaving 200-400 appointments, regardless of acceptance.

10 percent would leave remaining appointments at 100-200. It's just hard waiting for our DS and us parents too. Made even more difficult with limited info. It's not anyone's fault...just stressful. Very Glad He Has A Good full-ride backup in place.

That could be right, but I was thinking the other way. I know there is no way to determine how many are using the forum, but if we used a small estimate of 25%, that gives only 400 total appointments, leaving 600 or so available. Maybe I'm just being hopeful, but I would guess there's still at...

I know this is probably answered elsewhere, but couldn't find it. My DS only weakness was his CFA. How does he know if he passed/failed it? I'm assuming no news is good news, but also felt there would be something showing on the portal as well.
