I would have been glad to help her (English major myself) but I understand she wanted it to be "her" best effort. She is a programmer and writer with at least a dozen online accounts, so I am used to not seeing things until she pushes a laptop in front of my face.

In my attempts to validate her independence, I did not view her essays (she is a writer with an ACT English score of 34) or even get the password to her portal. Now I can't peek. I am swilling coffee and trying to focus on my paperwork and chores. Poor younger brother will be pestered to death...

We are sailing with belt and suspenders. Daughter has an Associate of General Studies earned in HS so she applied at USCGA and a state 4 yr uni. She has already been accepted there and the CG recruiter is the first stop we make if she gets a rejection to start paperwork on the CSPI program.

More is better; candidates need to write well.
