Belleville boots went to the shoe shop and the red mulch came out! YES!! They don't look new any more though. The big question from the shoe shop guy is, why suade? Yes, in mud or other stuff, this suade is rough to clean. Are these more "flight" boots? Curious.

In Florida, it was by nomination and there only so many spots. The event was paid for by the American legion sponsor, no cost to the student.

We called Belleville and were assured there were true to size. Got them and they seem to be.

My DS got them out March, to go to afa in June. Glad we did, was not painless!

My son also wants AE. He got into the Purdue program but has chosen USAFA. He is not a varsity athlete.

If you are genuine, enthusiastic and patriotic you'll do fine in the American Legion interview. If you have family that had served, I think that is important.

Btw, I did girls state in California in the late 80's. From my experience, you'll know how to run for office and if you have the support to do so. Top spots aren't for everyone. You'll see.

My DS went for the experience without aiming strategically for a position. He ended up on the press corp and LOVED it. He got 5 hours sleep a night.
