Wow I'm sorry this happened! When I went in for my exam, I was scheduled at 11AM. They told me to wait, and then at 1PM they came back and told me the doctor wasn't available until the next day. I guess you could reschedule it online and call again beforehand just in case!

If you are far enough along in the process, DODMERB should contact you. If that haven't, it never hurts to contact them! They responded to me in less than an hour.
