VMI '18+3 // ROTC Scholarship

I just got a notification that I did not make the cut this year. I feel absolutely horrible, but I will go to VMI and try again next year. Good luck to everyone else still in the running, and congratulations to those who have received appointments!

I just received a 3 year scholarship to VMI. If I don't get in to the Coast Guard Academy, I will be going there!

Hey, before I went to AIM I talked to a guy who had done it, and his advice helped me a lot. If you want, we can talk sometime soon and I can tell you all about it. It was a really interesting experience.

Is it odd I haven't received an email saying my file is going to the board? I submitted in January, so I don't know if that has an impact. I did get a DoDMERB email, though.

I'm still waiting to hear back from AROTC (I applied during the third board), but I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. If service academies don't work out for us (I applied to USCGA), I'll see you there!

To everyone who has applied to USCGA, what are/was your back up school?

Thank you! I love VMI, and have become friends with some of the people on the team I'd be joining. It's an honor to have received an appointment from a school with such amazing history-- but USCGA is still my first choice.
