Since your latest shutdown for maintenance I am unable to stay logged on...each time I come back to the site I have to sign in again. I am the only person who uses my computer so this is kind of inconvenient. Any suggestions will be appreciated.:confused:

The CGA has just released a new promotional video, which can be found on the home page at http://www.uscga.edu/ It's called Choosing the USCGA and features numerous familiar faces including my son and several of his class, as well as a number in the Class of 2013. Great job producing this.:thumb:

Today my son and most of his classmates were notified of their selection the the Lt. j.g. promotion list. While the promotion itself doesn't take effect until November I believe this is another great step for them in their CG careers. Congratulations.

Forecast for Connecticut the rest of the week:HOT HOT HOT...near 100 temps with high humidity. Fortunately the Academy will declare "Black Flag" days and limit the physical activities of the swabs. Hopefully a break in the weather is coming.:eek:

Unfortunately for the swabs (and their families) the weather in CT today is quite hot and uncomfortable. :eek: Hopefully the cadre will go a little easy on them. :wink:

Great game today with MMA winning in 2 OT's. I watched it on line and it looked like a packed house. Congrats to the Mariners from a CGA fan. Good job. Both teams did their school's proud. :thumb:

It appears, although the "admiral" may correct me, that the Listserv at the parents web site for the Class of 2013 is open for business. I got a notification from them recently so I am assuming this is the case. Parents of '13 should join up. I believe you have to be a parents association member...

I was watching the graduation ceremony on CSPAN and noted that one of the graduates is entering the Coast Guard. Another is branching to the USAF. Nice.:cool:

The CGA softball team won its opener in the NCAA Regionals 3-1 today. They move on to the second round tomorrow. They had just one hit, but it was a big one, a three-run jack by Becky Miller.:thumb:

The Class of 2009 reaches another important milestone with "Dining In" tonight. I'm sure LITS can elaborate but it is basically a pretty formal dinner for the graduating cadets, one in which I am told numerous spirits are toasted and imbibe. :eek:
