Interesting, but my first thought was couldn't they have named it after someone who actually served?
The 'John Wayne Saloon': How day drinking went undetected at one of America's top military bases
Excellent article about the DOD schools's success including interesting reasons why they succeed so well - from implementing Common Core, to being well funded, to not reporting to a local government, and to having families who have access to housing and health care with at least one parent who...
Apparently, that stealth thing is working pretty well. But why would a pilot eject even though the plane could still fly?

Does the AF fill jobs first with USAFA cadets then AFROTC cadets? And anyone know why AFROTC finds out their job before USAFA?
Finally, do any AFROTC cadets or parents know of their or their kid’s job yet? Mine finds out Friday. He went to Wright Pat for the flight physical so we’re hoping...
USAFA released their stats for the class of 2023 and the average high school GPA was 3.149. That seems really low for the Academy, I wonder if this was an off year. And since it's an average there must be some low GPAs being accepted for certain cadets:
"— The average high school GPA for the...
I wonder how many of those overcharging have retired military members in ownership:
How the Pentagon falls victim to price gouging by military contractors
I was just in Clovis. What a horrible spot for young officers to be stationed. But I wonder what this commander did to get fired.

Has anyone's children received their Project Go assignments for the 8-week adventure overseas this summer? My son is waitlisted for two spots. But he was waitlisted last summer before he got his choice.
We have a junior officer friend going to WP. Does anyone know about these areas for apartment living in the WP/Dayton area: Beavercreek, South Park, Oregon, Huber Heights, or Kettering?
Thanks for any info to pass along.
Any quick insights on where young Lts tend to live when stationed at Wright Pat? Apartments / neighborhoods that are safe, close, affordable, etc. but with other Lts and Cpts around.
Also, don't tell my kid that I'm asking, haha
Thanks!
I did not know that these many schools were requiring JROTC. I disagree with it being mandatory though.
Be sure to check out the comments - some ignorant people who know little about the military.

Four men will lead these offices - couldn't they have found at least one woman from the pool to be included? As a father of a daughter, this is poor messaging.
This is an ignorant thought process about mil families trying to vote from overseas. I don't think this legislator understands overseas assignments:
"The Michigan legislature doesn’t want to extend equal voting privileges to overseas military dependents as they want to give service members...
This is an interesting article. I never even think that there are people going AWOL.
A surge in Navy deserters could be a sign of a bigger problem for the military
Does anyone have a link that spells out below what minimum prescription level AFROTC cadets can still qualify for going rated while still being able to fly and not having to get lasik or other surgery? I heard it is -3.25 for USAFA cadets. But I can’t find a link for AFROTC. My rising college...
My son let me know that he needs lasik after Field Training sometime in August when he goes back to school. Will this be something where we find the doctor and my son sets up an appt, or does the cadre have approved doctors. And it is lasik that is required for correcting eyesight vs. prk...
