GRFD and Minuteman Scholarships make you deployable?

Thanks. I’m really glad that grad school rotc is still an option! (I thought I was too late). I really want to learn as much as I can about National Guard or Reserve Component opportunities

GRFD and Minuteman Scholarships make you deployable?

Context: I’m a 25-year-old living in the Los Angeles area, specifically Orange County, and I'm planning to enroll in a two-year graduate program while contracting into an ROTC battalion within a year or so. I also hold a bachelor’s in IR, work remotely for the state government, and completed my...

ROTC for Masters Students? Interested in Reserve Scholarship

Thanks. This seems like the best option for the schools I’d like to attend. I’ll look into getting the ROOs information and see what is available.

ROTC for Masters Students? Interested in Reserve Scholarship

Hi there, I am a 24-year-old interested in getting a Masters at some point in the near future. Grad school is a heavy interest of mine with a decent global affairs program. I was wondering what resources/literature is available online for prospectives like myself. I work remotely now and was...

Grad School ROTC or OCS? (Army Reserve)

I also read that direct commissioning is an option, but I don’t think this is always available?

Grad School ROTC or OCS? (Army Reserve)

I ended up in a DC college and wanted to go intern on the hill. Was fortunate enough and got into the White House Internship Program twice, and once with a federal senator. Cadre told me it was one or the other, so I did the White House full time. @AROTC-dad

Grad School ROTC or OCS? (Army Reserve)

Hi all, crazy to think it’s been a few years since I posted here. I remember first writing here as a high schooler! Time flies… I’m a current college graduate, age 23. Since graduating, I’ve landed a full-time job and still aspire to be an Army Officer. I would like to however specify that I’m...

How exactly does one become an 'Air Cav' Officer

It seems like every place I look people either don't know or don't have much information on the subject. I know the 1st Calvary Regiment is still functioning as Air cav but that's about it. Can anyone comment on specifics? Thanks

How hard is getting AD MI Officer?

Thanks again folks. As previously mentioned, my ideal goal would be Active Duty Military Intelligence. Since shooting for the top 10% may be ambitious, does anyone here feel it would be worth going NG or Reserves to raise the chances of getting MI? Ideally, I'd like to work full time for the...

How hard is getting AD MI Officer?

I did. Was told it can help me get my branch if I tack on 3 extra years, but not whether or not I get AD. Either way, most said going guard or reserve for MI and then submitting a packet for AD was a far more likely scenario then just getting MI straightup. Also, I forgot to ask. Say I adso'd...

How hard is getting AD MI Officer?

Hey again, So i called my cadere, and was told over the phone that forbAD, a 3.2 gpa would suffice, and for MI, to shoot for a 3.4. However, word from fellow cadets is that MI is highly competitive, and may only have 40 slots for AD. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

How hard is getting AD MI Officer?

Thanks for the advice. Being from the DC area, internships are quite plentiful. However, I haven't really heard much about Army internships. I have heard of CULP however. Could you perhaps slightly elaborate on Army internships since I'm not really aware of them? Best

How hard is getting AD MI Officer?

    ADSO is what? I'm sorry.

How hard is getting AD MI Officer?

Noncontracted MSI here. Currently floating around AD jobs and MI is really the most appealing to my interests at this time. How competitive is this branch, and what should I be shooting for GPA and PT wise to branch it? Thanks

Can ROTC Cadets Study Abroad for a Whole Year?

Thats a fair point. I also got pm'd proposing that I could study abroad over the summer and fall semester for roughly about 7 months. That also seems like a fair deal. However, I'll take your advice and inquire about this to my ROO and PMS. Cheers

Can ROTC Cadets Study Abroad for a Whole Year?

Thanks for posting these, but I already saw these and I think they only deal with a semester abroad rather than a year abroad. If theres any info on a year, I would really appreciate that the most.

Can ROTC Cadets Study Abroad for a Whole Year?

Hi, I'm an uncontracted Freshman and I've decided that I would like to Study Abroad for a full year rather than a semester to acclimate myself with a particular culture. As I've heard, there are some hoops cadets have to jump through to study abroad for a semester, so I can just imagine what...

    SMP Vs. Regular ROTC?

I am a non scholarship and non-contracted cadet. Furthermore, my goal is to shoot for active duty which I've now heard from other SMPs that it is possible to do so. My honest and main goal is getting as much experience as possible, and like you said above, I was recommended by a current enlisted...

    SMP Vs. Regular ROTC?

Hi again, long time no see! I'm happy to announce that I'm underway in my third week of freshman college and have been loving the ROTC experience. Recently, the possibility of joining SMP has crossed my mind and has made me wonder what the advantages/disadvantages of joining would be as a...
