    Cold Feet

My son became grumpier and grumpier as IDay approached. I knew it was cold feet, but he wouldn't admit that. He went. He's a happy kid with Plebe year in the rear view mirror. Never seen him happier, in fact.

    Round two officially begins

I actually stayed away from this board for a year and came back to find out what happened for your son. Congrats! This time it's my daughter. Son is a current plebe (almost plebe no more).

    Noon Meal Formation during PS

I agree with all posted above. We do live relatively close and popped up for a couple parades. I would add- it may not be wise to make a trip to see your kid at noon meal formation. Other company activities can pull them from noon meal formation. So, you could well show up and your kid's company...

    STEM?

Well, my son went to STEM, CVW, NASS and is a Plebe. Daughter went to STEM, CVW, is accepted to NASS, and is a 2022 applicant. We are from a competive area of Virginia. I don't think there's any way for us on the outside to determine the calculations of the admissions boards, unfortunately. I...

    NASS acceptances

May depend what part of the country you're from. I don't think that omission would fly from a kid here in Virginia. If you don't like your scores, you can address that in one of the spaces allotted for discussion of academics, and your plan to improve your scores.

    NASS acceptances

Don't worry. My son didn't hear until April. He's now a happy Plebe.

    USNA Summer Seminar 2017

Those scores sound great to me! They're either above or right around 700 on math and reading, correct? I say submit. My son is a current Plebe and daughter is applying to class of 2022, like you. Good luck!

    Seeing a psychologist

Actually, at 14 (pretty sure that's national) kids have total rights to their mental health care. Parent may not be all that involved, IF the kid wants to handle the process independently. The kid needs to be prepared to say he/she does not want a diagnosis..... and insurance companies LIKE...

    Please Don't Be That Parent

Sadly, I have been told by many people, in various SA capacities to stay off of these forums due to misinformation and mean spiritedness. So, I learned to take it all with a grain of salt and pick and choose my information. I certainly have received some wisdom gems, and I've also felt the...
