    Scholarship Vs. Contract

Hello everyone, I'm currently a non-contracted AROTC freshman in college. I recently just got my waiver approved. Because I qualify academically (GPA), physically (APFT), and now medically, do I have the option to become contracted without receiving a scholarship? It says on GoArmy that a...

@Hoosiermom18 That's great! I'm glad I could help. Best of luck to your DS :)

    Spring courses for reapplicants

I understand the frustration of registering late because the ones who have the most credits (seniors) get to register first. I don't think Admissions would care as much about your Spring semester as much as they do your Fall grades. My best advice is to simply try your best in whatever courses...

    Take a Deep Breath

Long time, no see everyone! College sure has kept me on my toes but I thought I'd share a few words of advice while I'm home as BFE season is upon us. Last year, I applied to USMA. I had a medical issue (please refer to my older threads) so getting cleared in April and waiting for a waiver was...

    ROTC/USMA: AMA

After joining my state university's ROTC program, I have decided to discontinue my application to USMA. ROTC has been so much more exciting than I thought it'd be. I love every bit of it, from waking up early to go to PT to having lab on Thursdays. Receiving the LOA made it extremely difficult...

    3.5-Year ROTC Scholarship Chances

I am currently in AROTC at my state college applying for a 3.5-year scholarship. I'm only a freshman so I don't have a GPA yet, but I do Color Guard, Drill Team, am planning to study for and pledge to join Pershing Rifles, Intramural Soccer, and am President of my program's student board. My...

    ROTC vs USMA

Thank you all for your feedback. I apologize for the delayed answer as I am now no longer checking SAF at 8PM every day as a high school senior! I am having a lot of trouble enjoying my other classes because I love ROTC so much! I never expected for it to be so great and for the cadets to be so...

Oops, I used that word incorrectly, but I know I'd restart as a Plebe. Thank you @brovol !

    ROTC vs USMA

Hello everyone, So I have completed ROTC Orientation at my state college and am in the middle of my first week of school. However, I am also reapplying to USMA and have received a LOA already. In the event that I get in, I don't really know which path I want to take: USMA or continuing with...

    Additional Letters of Recommendation

I know you can't read them yourself, but if you're going to send additional LOR's, try to make sure they include information that's not found on your information. Allow Admissions to learn a more personal side of you, so that your application is more than a stack of papers. They do not want to...

    LOA

Thank you! In short, something like "Congratulations, we're saving a spot for you. Complete your 'A', 'B', 'C'. Have 'D', 'E', submitted by (specific date) or this letter will be withdrawn." Then it explains how to schedule overnight visits.

    LOA

Snail mail. I'm a college re-applicant so SOE's were already there from last cycle. LOA's are merit-based and thus are not correlated to nominations of any kind.

    LOA

Yes, in the Correspondence. Just a quick question, how long did it take for yours to arrive? I was told one was requested for me last week but I've got nothing yet.

    Are Remedials the norm?

No blood tests. With my knee issue last year, I got remedial before I was DQ'd so I think they just need more information before they can make an accurate decision on whether to qualify/ disqualify your son for whatever the remedial code states. There are pages and pages of things listed on...

    LOA

@BSCAR I repeat, some kids get in with a 26, some don't with a 33. There's just too much variation in the process for one test score to be used as comparison, especially with the other components of the application. The safest thing to do is to try your hardest.
