I applied for NROTC and was awarded one in October. I needed a color deficiency waiver that did not get approved by NROTC (was given one by USNA), so I later became ineligible for the NROTC scholarship.

I am a principle nominee. I was previously medically disqualified and waiver denied but I was told today I will be appointed Monday so I guess usna changed their mind about my waiver

My waiver for color deficiency was not granted. I was a competitive candidate and also received a principal nom to USNA and USMA. Consider yourself lucky

Yes, Paul Ryan awarded me a principal nomination and also called me himself to tell me about my appointment, which I was surprised about due to his extremely busy schedule.
