Your DD's journey sounds like my DD's. She loved WP, but she couldn't see a clear end game into the medical profession, even if she obtained a kinesiology degree. She went the AROTC nursing route and, so far, so good.
Kevin, I'd be careful using any coach for the PFA. Thoroughly look at the requirements on who can administer each test. They are all slightly different. Are you applying to the academies also? If you are applying for USNA the components for NROTC are in the CFA (service academy physical fitness...
UPDATE: talked to my DD today. Her battalion doesn't have an HR person at this time so the work is being done by other people in the cadre, so things are moving a little slow. She talked to her ROO and he's looking into it through Cadet Command.
All of her applications were in by Nov 01 2016. She applied to nursing schools, therefore she had to do early action. Please note I changed spring 2016 to spring 2017 in my first reply to you.
My DD has a 4 year AROTC scholarship (nursing). She passed her APFT on Sept 02 2017, one week after college started. She signed her contract on Sept 22 2017. She took her oath on Oct 14 2017.
Her stipend payment(s) have not shown up yet.
Will she be paid retroactive to the day she signed...
Seeing the same with my DD (4 year scholarship winner - nursing). Full academic schedule, PT four mornings a week, playing club softball. So far, she's handling it. Last night after her first club game she headed to the pool for CWST practice. A day in the life of a cadet.
Has he considered doing internships in some medical capacity? My DD volunteered working on the pediatric ward at the local hospital and did a 6pm - 10pm shift weekly with our local rescue service, working with EMTs, etc.
My DD just passed her AROTC PFT. She's a four year scholarship award winner. Rather than bother her with more questions I'll ask the forum a few questions. How soon can she expect to sign her contract? When will stipend payments occur?
Thanks
Contact the school. Someone from the school familiar with ROTC contacted us and indicated ROTC would pay after successful completion of the PFT. I believe my DD was going to take the PFT this fall, probably September. The school indicated they would waive the late fee.
