    NROTC Board Review Schedule

Use the status link instead of the application link: https://www.netfocus.netc.navy.mil/nrotc/candidate_app/status_scholarship.aspx The news is not likely good, as the accepted candidates seem to get an email telling them to check the portal, and my sons application portal access was removed so...

    NROTC Board Review Schedule

@needlasereyesurgerypronto and @Lulu3 - sounds like NC State is the winner this week. My son is most likely headed there too. @needlasereyesurgerypronto I was not selected, and did college program for a year at Michigan before getting a three year scholarship back in the day. Keep working for it!

    NROTC Board Review Schedule

The portal updated today for the board a week ago. Bad news for us - "We're sorry, you have not been selected." So cheers to you all, and good luck!

    NROTC Board Review Schedule

@Lulu3 - Same boat - my DS was turned down by Duke too. Apparently we are not alone: http://www.dukechronicle.com/article/2017/03/duke-accepts-7-3-percent-of-regular-decision-applicants Only 58 of the deferred early decision applicants were now accepted. Everywhere I read there is an record...

    Graduation and commissioning gift ideas

My parents gave me a naval officer's sword for graduation and commissioning. It is above my desk in a case right now, just about 30 years on.

    NROTC Board Review Schedule

Navy NOLA: is there a logic flow as they go back through the ones they've scored once they have scored all the applications? For example: first we'll review all the 7-10s, then the 4-7's, etc.? Or is it by submission date, or last name, or something??

    NROTC Status

Yep, plans B, C, D, etc. are in the works - which involves choice of school. And MichUSNA2021hopefulparent: sorry to hear on the denial. Congratulations on the AROTC scholarship, and good luck on the others / Academy.

    NROTC Status

Thanks - that's what I suspected: good enough to hold onto until the full hand is available to evaluate I guess.

    NROTC Status

OK, so my son's status page doesn't seem to say any of these things. All it says is: The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application. Missing Items All required items have been processed. Selection Status No decision has been made on your application. I seem to recall a...

    NROTC

Thanks for your insight. Considering the new SAT scores are about 50 points higher than the old on average, and his graduating class size is at a peak, it seems the odds are longer - and so we wait and hope.

    NROTC

Hi NavyNOLA - My son's materials were all in 19th of September. 1450 SAT, 4.9 weighted GPA, 3.9 unweighted, academically rigorous pre-engineering coursework (AP Chem, AP Physics, AP Calc, etc.) 4 years of football and off season conditioning, service, part time job, applied for Mechanical...

    NROTC Board Review Schedule

Pratt, and I now wish we had put down Physics or Math in Trinity as a second choice but he insisted engineering or bust.

    NROTC Board Review Schedule

When my DS interviewed at Duke, they told him if he was accepted to Duke they were confident he would get a scholarship. Duke apparently considers NROTC the same way the consider diversity in admissions. They told him this, so I didn't get an explanation of how. He doesn't have an answer from...
