    USAFA Applications down 27.6%?

Do not sell yourself or your generation short. I agree that the current generation of academy graduates is probably better academically, but there is a reason the attrition rate is much lower these days and is not because this generation is tougher. You posed the question of could your...

4 USAFA seniors may not graduate because of COVID shot mandate

I'm not sure if they use those medications or not, but I'm pretty sure the U.S. Government doesn't force them to take those medications.

4 USAFA seniors may not graduate because of COVID shot mandate

This is a quote from a USAFA graduate who is trying to help these Cadets. "These are evangelical Christian cadets, who are pro-life, and they object to the fact that the vaccines were tested on aborted fetal stem cell lines. Because of their objection to abortion, their conscience will not let...

Sending Cadet to I-Day Alone via Air?

In 2017 I dropped my DS off at the Memphis airport the day before Iday and he never looked back. He later said it was scary but was the best thing for him. Myself and his Grandfather made the trip for Aday and I think that was the most excited I have ever seen him. He was glad to see us but he...

    Waiting Game

Anyone on here from Mississippi? I am from MS and love following this website. It provided much needed info for my DS(current Firstie) throughout the process. I have not seen anyone from MS on the list yet and was wondering if there were any waiting.

Jobs dropping at USAFA today !!

No, he did not get into specifics and I did not ask. One thing I have learned throughout this USAFA journey is to not ask too many questions and be grateful for the info he provides.

Jobs dropping at USAFA today !!

My DS is in the 600's and was fortunate enough to get a pilot slot but he was sweating it. He said he knows several disappointed Cadets that did not get a pilot slot but requested it. It's the first time in his 4 years at USAFA everyone that was PQ didn't get a slot if they asked.

    Pilot slot competitiveness

The slots have not been filled yet, they just put in their preferences a few weeks ago. I do not know the answer to your other questions, but I do not think they would compete with ROTC, I think what ever their assignment they draw just before graduation, is their job.

    Pilot slot competitiveness

My Firstie DS informed me a few weeks ago that this years graduating class will receive approximately 400 slots this year from USAFA. That's well over 100 less slots than the last two years.

    Just sharing

Very impressive improvements in his physical conditioning in a very short time. My prayers go out to him and you as he navigates his new world. It seem like yesterday my DS was in the same place, he is now a Cadre in his final year at USAFA. It goes by in the blink of an eye!

    Leaving USAFA

My DS is in his second year and was a direct appointment, his roommate came from the Prep school and did very well his first year on the Hill(much better than my DS). DS's roommate said first year on the Hill was a repeat of the Prep school and was a breeze. Not sure if that helps but it's one...

So, it is free: Polite and meaningful answer

    Low ACT Math score?

My DS is in his second year at USAFA (from MS as well) and had the same problem with the ACT, he was in the upper 30's in all categories except math. He pulled a 27 one time but was a consistent 24 in math. Keep taking the test as often as it's given and follow the advice others have pointed...

    Inflamed Ribs

A large percentage of the Basic Cadets will have to deal with some type of issue during BCT. Mine (2021er) suffered a knee injury playing flag football that required an MRI and physical therapy. I freaked out when I saw him on crutches in WebGuy photos. They took care of it and he was full go...
