I was looking through other threads and noticed that the one thread about duffle bags did not get addressed.
I plan to take a duffle bag, similar to the one in the attached picture, on I-Day. Will I run into any problems?
My friend, 2C, recommended me to bring my own boots to BCT. I asked him the same question about whether the cadre would allow it, and he assured me that I would be fine bringing my own boots.
I typically wear between a 9.5 to 10 depending on the shoe. This boot was a size 9. The 10 fit but they were a bit wide at the toe. I highly recommend you try on the boot with thick socks before purchasing them.
I got my boots at the base exchange. I'm not sure they have retail stores carrying these boots. You may want to get another opinion on this. I live in CA and I don't think the local stores carry these boots.
I purchased the S2V Rockies. They are a bit heavier weighing about 3.5 pounds in contrast to the other 1.5 pounds, but they meet regulation and also have incredible grip.
Researched some boots from the Rocky and Belleville Tactical Research Line. Here are just a few listed in a graphic organizer. Hope this is helpful for those not sure on which boots meet regulation.
