My son applied for the AROTC Scholarship and didnt get one....but he really wanted to go to NMMI because of the 2+2 college (2 yrs NMMI commission as a 2nd LT then 2 yrs at Embry for flight school) everyone on this forum spoke poorly of the Jr College's I have to say my son loves NMMI, he tells...
I believe you do have to be SMP and you get paid monthly by them to attend drills or if no drills close by then the school will have you do something in exchange.
My son feels the same way other then he can add Staff for the past 2 years JROTC which is a lot of responsibility and Drill Team. Plus 3 summers of leadership camp. Plus gets A's in his leadership classes, and graduating top 5% of his class. Don't give up! Sometimes it is just not meant...
From everything I have read even if you have a full scholarship at university you are not guaranteed AD, you are given an oml and they pick the top 50%, and ECP are also put in that equation. So if you chose ECP your getting a 4 year scholarship so pick a Major that you can do on the civilian...
My son is working with the recruiters at NMMI and they just submitted a ROTC Scholarship for him. They have been more then helpful. Marion is a good school as well I have a friend who went their commissioned, did 2 years at a university and was commissioned in regular Army and retired a major...

I guess all the Scholarships have been announced....I am so grateful I pushed my son to start on Plan B and C and both are in the works, Plan B has been more then helpful and the school has heaps of scholarships they are helping him apply for, God gives us, what is best for us. I am grateful...

I was just informed, by one of my choices that the 2nd board (which my son's packet boarded for) was never looked at by the board....why would that be. It was boarded on November 28th but when they met in January they never looked at the packet, does that sound like good information? He said he...

If you read what some of the winners have posted they don't have all of the above, some have none of the above. If that is 100% what they require then the scholarship page should indicate it. Yes they want those who show strong leadership skills and academics but sports should not be a main...
