What a crazy, stressful, exciting, ride this is! Out of curiosity, did your DS get a nomination from Durbin? I'm fascinated about how all this stuff works. Hope it works out the way you want it to!

How did you find out that you were placed on a waitlist? Did it show up on your portal or did you receive an email?

If it makes you feel any better, I have the same worries about my DS. Thing is, you can't really predict how everything will go. These kids are all so bright and so capable. We just have to trust they will continue on their paths and if things change, they will handle it. This next phase in life...

So I'm guessing that since my son was already medically cleared by Dodmerb for USNA that he won't have to go through it again for the NROTC scholarship?

My son had 2 nominations--congressman and senator. No medical issues. I'm guessing our slate was just crazy competitive and it wasn't meant to be right now.

My son got his email this morning as well. He just said, "Well, I guess that's not where I'm meant to be." Then he accepted his NROTC scholarship. I guess we will see what happens next! It's such a long and stressful ride...but I'm glad he took his best shot at it.

Was he waitlisted as of April 15 last year? What did they tell you on April 15?

We are waiting on USNA as well.

They say late March. I'm hoping this week qualifies as "late" but I doubt it.

My DS just found out that he received the NROTC scholarship to Notre Dame! Now just waiting on admissions. Fingers crossed!

They told us which week when they accepted him to Summer seminar. He put down all 3 as well.

It's a whole new world to me as well! My son is waiting anxiously on an appointment to USNA while also trying for an NROTC scholarship to a backup school. I'm praying he ends up where he is meant to be!

Trying to take deep breaths and chill, but it's difficult when you have no ideas about when the answer may come! Waiting on appointment to USNA while also waiting on NROTC scholarship while also waiting on admissions to other schools is brutal for a parent! I'm trying to forget about it but not...

My son got noms from Durbin and Bost (Dist 12). Does Durbin only have one spot at USNA on his slate this year?
