I was surprised to see this - Class of 2002 sounds like; served 5 years and then joins SLPD as a beat cop after being an Army officer ??? [rank of Captain upon leaving service.] Incident happened in 2011 BTW. Makes you wonder if something in his service record influenced that career choice...

Just curious what the USMA system would be for hypothetical injury at this late stage of BCT? What happens if they can't participate during the last week of Beast? Not talking about the typical bruises and sprains etc; what if a NC winds up in a cast before march back?

DS said he just missed the cut time [2:26 vs 2:20] for the Beast swim test to qualify for the advanced course but says top 250 get in regardless of time. Apparently its intense but frees up a lot of time vs the standard course so he's hoping. Any idea from past years if that time is close...

Lvg FL tomorrow with DS in midst of 3-8" snow falling in CO. Glad we didn't pack any cold weather stuff for spring break. It was usually 60-70 degree F in Jan and Feb when I checked Oh well it has to be done! We'll be the ones in sandals . . .

With cell phones few wear watches any more; is this something that would be useful or prohibited for Beast Barracks? I know from Boy Scout years that there are some field courses that need them but DS doesn't own one. Is this addressed on the standard 'bring / don't bring' list or not?
