Exactly...his entire youth! DS didn't decide to go NAVY until December of his junior year in high school. Luckily he had already accomplished a lot, just because of the kid he is...Boy Scout, youth group, volunteering, sports, etc. and I, too agree that he deserved to be recognized.

What was the process of informing NROTC that you were DODMERB qualified?

We were really excited. He had gotten waitlisted from USNA on April 11th, so we were really hoping for some good news. He actually just got the final TWE from USNA today, so Plan B is really in place.

DS just got the email that he received the NROTC scholarship on Friday, April 21st. Am I to assume that he was chosen in the final board? He didn't have his application completed until the end of January.

Yes. He was put on the waitlist on April 11th and got email today saying more students accepted and they wouldn't have a spot for him.

DS got his official twe just now. Actually relieved that he can really get excited about NROTC at University of Michigan.

He got an email from PNSC_NROTC placement that said he was the NROTC scholarship recipient.

We are currently still waitlisted for the USNA, but found out yesterday that DS was also awarded the NROTC at the University of Michigan, and he is very excited!
