Contracted Cadet, am I a current member of US Armed Forces?

If you have a CAC you are a service member. If you are a contracted ROTC CDT you are a member of the inactive-reseve. If you are asking for military benefits, then yes you technically receive them. You can open an account with USAA and receive certain military benefits (if you so choose to). It...

    AROTC Insight?

If I understand correctly, funding is especially tight these days with everything going on with the big army and politics. This could be it.

Current Army ROTC Competitive Branching (Infantry)

I have not been able to find much current advice regarding competing for competitive branches, especially the Army placing a heavier emphasis on the TAB. I have a few questions with regards to branching infantry: 1. The one thing I heard was that if you are in the top 10% you can basically...

    Specialty Schools

I know there are usually Airborne and Air Assault classes, over the winter period (nov through January), but the most recent schedule I found was 2019. Do y’all know if there’s a more recent schedule.

Does anyone know when we'll be able to see the 2020-2021 calendar for CAIT? In Particular Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, etc.

    Off Campus Customs and Courtesy

If you are an MSII and one of your roommates is the BC (CDT LTC) and you are both together in a private environment e.g. in your driveway, do you still salute? I have to imagine you do because you are still in uniform but yet again, it is a pretty high rank for a Cadet. Would it be the same with...

    AROTC Pass/Fail

Does anyone know what Cadet Command's stance is on pass/fail classes? A few of the cadets were saying that MAJ GEN Evans said during the town hall meeting that any class a CDT took as a "Pass" would be counted as a 2.0 toward the Army GPA. I was wondering if anyone heard anything about this...

    Body Fat measurement

I agree with this, what I was getting at, is that as long as you pass (getting taped) it is not serious. But yes...if you fail the tape test, the army does take that seriously.

    ROTC Question

Our classes are online, we are also starting online labs this week. Since we coincidentally finished all of our tactical labs this semester, we are going to listen to a presentation on certain topics given by the MSIVs (Seniors). We still need to do PT - We send up a weekly PT schedule to our...

    Shaving Profile In ROTC

Ok...let me give you some advice. If you are going to be an MSI in the fall you're one job is basically to show up in the right uniform, and don't do anything to upset your upperclassmen. I don't know a single CDT in any detachment to have a shaving profile, let alone for razor bumps. I would...

    Body Fat measurement

In the big army, no one cares if you're over the standard as long as you are physically fit. I also fall in this category, 6' 4" 220/225 rugby player. I'm able to cut during the offseason, but in-season when we have height and weight, I get taped. As long as it's mostly muscle then your good...

Army ROTC Cadet & CAIT (Jungle Warfare School)

Hello everyone, Is anyone familiar with the Army's Jungle Warfare School (JOTC) located in Hawaii? I have a shot at attending the school during Summer 2021 and would like to reach out with someone who might have more information on the specifics (like the small stuff you can't find online, or...

    I'm a little concerned

Have no fear. I was navy bound for years, but it didn’t work out. I enrolled in army rotc at a college I loved, and made the Ranger Challenge team, and color guard team. I worked hard to earn a scholarship, I was the first non contracted cadet in our class to be awarded a scholarship (3 year). I...

MS1 here! Ask any questions you may have about ROTC

I’m also an MS1 on RC! What do you think of it! I personally love it, and think it’s a great way for MS1 to set themselves apart from the rest of their class.

    ROTC as a sophomore

Just to go off on what was already said. Yes, it’s possible! You just need to make up your MSI classes while taking your MSII classes. You will have the opportunity to compete for a scholarship against current ROTC cadets too.

    ROTC Profile rules

Talk to your CADRE they’re there to help you. Here at my Battalion you have 90 days after your profile ends to make up the APFT with CADRE. Hope this helps.
