Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Based on what you wrote, I say stay at your school. It sounds like the only reason you're considering transferring is because you think it'll help you get in USAFA. Good grades and ECs help you get in, the name on the school can just be a bonus, at best. There are other ways to exemplify...

    Form 34

Great! That's all that matters. I'm happy with mine too. When my friends who are still at the Academy ask me if I regret leaving, I say, "No, but I don't regret going either." I made some good friends, learned some cool stuff, and had some good and bad times, but overall, it was just one chapter...

    Form 34

I think it kinda sucks for everyone at least at one point. I had some really good times, and some really bad ones. What everyone should do is ask themself WHY it sucks. Is your problem one that you only have to deal with for a while(4-degree rules), all of USAFA(USAFA rules), or the AF(AF regs)...

    Form 34

This is a part most people don't understand, but I agree with you. Ignore all the "propaganda" (I call it that because that's what it sounded like when I was there, and now that I'm out I see that's what it was). Yes, USAFA is a way to give you a comfy(in some way) start at life, but it's NOT...

    Form 34

I just Form 34ed this past summer after doing 2 years at the Academy. I'll tell you up front I highly advise sticking out at least the first year. If you have any questions just PM me and we can talk about it.

    Just Checking Back In...

Yeah it was kinda hard. I think the hardest part was a tie between trying to explain to people who've never been to an academy why I would want to leave, (got a lot of "why would you leave free school/guaranteed job/etc"), and asking myself if it was possible to want something for so long and...

    Just Checking Back In...

Hey everybody, I was USAFA c/o 2016 (KLEPTO lol). I always wanted to go to the AF/USAFA, but when I got there it wasn't what I expected, even with all the research and "preparation" I had done (CAP, forums, books, etc.). I did two years, and when commitment came, I realized I wasn't 100%...

    Senator Murray nom. application?

I think this would be better handled if it were posted in the Nominations sub-forum. But to answer your question, it'd probably better for you to call her office directly and ask them for assistance.

    Online Application Question

No, but don't worry about it. It's just a letter stating that you're now a candidate. The link to the actual application site isn't in it

    Online Application Question

Earlier today I was in the same situation. All I could access was the PCQ. Then this afternoon I called and left a message with my assigned USAFA Counselor informing him that my application had not opened yet. I just checked the PCQ page again. Not much had changed, except there was a new box at...

    What should I do?

Well, I'm not an expert. But I would suggest Basketball since it's the only real "team" sport of the three.

Some advice for all the "What are my chances" posters.

THANK YOU!! :thumb: I've been thinking this ever since the first one of those posts popped up in my inbox a few months ago. I think most of the people who post those want a direct "yes, you will get in" or "no, you won't get in". Unfortunately, it's not that simple. There are a lot of factors...

    Need information/help

I wanted to start my nomination process in late Junior Year, but my rep doesn't open hers until July , so unfortunately I have to wait. In response to your question, apply for the Summer Seminar this year coming up, keep your grades up, and stay involved.

    Boxing

One semester is stand up - boxing, etc. and another semester is ground - jiu-jitsu, wrestling, etc. They probably won't go VERY in-depth into either, but if you already know some BJJ, like myself, than you'll probably already be pretty familiar with the stuff they're teaching, so you should be...

    Summer Seminar

Just bring a suitcase. It's better to be safe than sorry, and you'll only have to carry it around when you come in, and when you leave. Otherwise, it just sits in your room.

    Competitive Applicant Without SAT Scores?

Haha, we're in the EXACT same situation. I also just took the SAT this past saturday, and am also heading out to SS and taking the ACT June 11. But in response to your question, we'll probably get back home June 10 in the afternoon, so if you go home and relax, you should be fine. Which SS...

    shooting vs. lacrosse

I think it's both teamwork and leadership. Also, I'm 99.99% sure USAFA has a shooting team. Do a sport you enjoy, if you don't, you'll end up like me: Spending your time doing a sport you no longer like because you don't want to quit.... :P
