    My daughter received a DoDMERB waiver last week for a herniated disc - it did not require surgery just physical therapy if I recall correctly.

    Update - DoDMERB posted on its portal that the waiver was granted but unfortunately the Academy did not accept it. She needed a waiver for having been prescribed post-concussion medication within the last two years. The Coach suggested she wait a year and apply to the Class of 2022.

    Thanks. The waiver criteria seems hard to implement. If the disc is nearly or entirely disintegrated (or in the neck C-5/6) I can understand. If your son played middle linebacker without pain for multiple years thats a tough one.

    Congratulations! I think you have a wonderful opportunity ahead of you. I was hoping that my daughter would (athlete) receive an appointment to NAPS but NAPS doesn't have her sport. She was asked to consider a Foundation school instead (at $55,000 per year). Celebrate! And Happy Birthday!
