Thanks for your input. We have not heard back from him 16 months later. I don’t need $900 back but I just needed a letter /email from him to let us know whether the case is or is not going forward. That is not much to ask.

So disappointed! Once he got $900, he never returned any phone calls or emails. He gave the military a bad name and ruined my son’s hopes. We have not heard back from him since June 2017.

My kid's LOA was rescinded on 4/13/17 due a Medical DQ. His waiver status is still pending...I just wish he can find out soon about the waiver so he can move forward with the application for 2018!

Thanks for your suggestions, our son just registered Cal, Chem, Physics and a Engineering courses at a local university while waiting to reapply for the Academies next year. The school that he is going does not have Naval ROTC...so now we are looking at plan C.

Exactly! We took our boy to Embry Riddle in Az last week...he will have to apply for ROTC scholarships for 2018....can't afford $45-48 K price tags

We just checked his file....his LOA was withdrawn due to a medical DQ...the waiver is still pending! My son will reapply again next year with new medical results/medical studies....good luck!

Updated info: We tracked down his ER treating physician who was willing to write an addendum explaining his fainting was caused by a dehydration...we turned it into Dobmers but I doubted that they will look at it now since his case is in the WA.....a valuable lesson is taking the medical exam...

His LOA was withdrawn today due to Medical DQ..very sad...Waiver Status is pending....we are running out of time this year...But Dr Merchant is very helpful to guide us for next year clearance....my boy will attend a state university with a full scholarship....he will be taking electrical...

We consulted them last Monday...we are running out of time this year but we will take him to Mayo clinics to get medical studies to clear for next year! Dr M was very helpful. Thanks

How did you find out that your waiver has been granted from USMMA? My son's status is pending from USMMA!

That is really sad...we have new info but neither the Academy or DODMERS would forward the new info to the appropriate medical team for a waiver!
