Does Virginia Tech provide free room and board for AROTC?

And Jarhead713 given the status of Junior Moderator is a reflection of the forums' position on young people posting on this forum. Personally, I think this guy is meanspirited.

Does Virginia Tech provide free room and board for AROTC?

Kinnem, your so called "practical suggestion" is just that, practical. But young people commonly prefer to find their answers online in forums like this. This forum is a wealth of information and I personally see posters answer questions that surprise me all the time. But your ongoing "ask...

Does Virginia Tech provide free room and board for AROTC?

Kinnem, instead of constantly being rude to young people asking questions on this forum, perhaps you could take a step back? In this case, if you had waited just 1 minute, TexasAggie204 would have answered the question and all would be good in the world. You need to chill.

    confused about AROTC deadlines

Document Submission Deadline 3rd High School Board: 09 March 2020 @ 1159pm EST You have until 04 March 2020 @ 1159pm EST to complete your application. To apply for the ROTC Scholarship, an application must be started by 04 February 2020 @ 1159pm EST

    Initial Acceptance Transfer timeline

I've read that applicants have requested for transfer and received them before the 3rd Board. For instance, I read where one transfer request for a 3-year scholarship made on 2/15/18 was approved on 2/27/18 (only 12 days). The sooner the better to avoid the transfer request rush. Uploading...

    Unsure of next step

    1. Accept the scholarship 2. Wait until you have received all your college acceptances 3. Of those colleges, decide which college you like best 4. Submit your acceptance and make a deposit to attend the four-year college or university of your choice by the National College Decision Day

    Simultaneous Membership Program

From what I have read, it seems that Minuteman Scholarships are given out mostly during the summer months after applicants have been accepted into college. Once the Recruiter and/or ROO know where the applicant is going to college, then they can get the ball rolling with MEPS, Reserve/Guard...

Do I have to go active or can I do reserve?

Yes. Some ROTC cadets are not allowed to go active duty.

Do I have to go active or can I do reserve?

For what I have read, most ROTC cadets want to go active, and some just cannot. Therefore, if you prefer to go reserve because you want to go to grad school or get a job, I read there is plenty of room and easy to enter the reserve/guard.

    Parents...

My dad says that my job is to focus on school and having fun with my EC's. He was against me getting a job. He told me that once I'm 18, I'm mostly on my own. But until then, he has been supporting me and helping me get into college and scouring the Internet for answers, e.g., Minuteman...

    ROTC Interview Tips

I personally would have omitted bringing the "congressional nomination recommendation letters" to the interview. It may turn off the interviewer into believing that the NROTC was your 2nd choice or backup plan. I would instead want to impress upon the interviewer that the NROTC was my main...

    I'm a little concerned

I highly doubt the OP ran 7:16 for 1.5 miles. That is 4:51 pace. One mile is this distance required. As for curl-ups, I doubt he did 67 in 60 seconds - especially since 50 gets you max points. I think he just got confused.

    Rooming with Fellow rotc cadet

If I got the scholarship, I was definitely planning on requesting a ROTC roommate. My main non-ROTC roommate concern is waking up early for PT. I wouldn't like dressing in the dark and using my ninja skills in the mornings. I would also be worried I would be stuck with a night owl/gamer when...
