When we visited West Point, they said if you have to choose between West Point's Summer Leadership Experience (SLE) and Boy's/Girl's State, chose Boy's/Girl's State. So I would choose it over anything else. DS did boy's state and got an appointment yesterday class of '22
Ohh okay thanks. I was wondering because I’m 3 years post op, and I recieved a dq for hip surgery.
If you have no residual issues from your hip surgery, your waiver may come through. Stay positive and send everything they ask for.
Dodmerb cleared him for 2022. No waiver required this time. He is now more than 12 months post ligament surgery. He still hasn't been offered an appointment for 2022 though.
Yes, DS had 2 nominations for class of 2021; eas medically DQ by Dodmerb in Jan. Or Feb. Last year. West Point applied for waiver but he was never 3Qd and eventually waiver was denied 4.24.17. He has been cleared medically this year for a chance at the class of 2022.
We understand that it could be between now and June with the majority of appointments being offered March/April! Best of luck. Stay positive and have a good plan B.
DS was medically disqualified 4/24/2017 from the class of 2021 for being less than 12 months post ligament surgery. The DODMERB exam was 11/21/216. The waiting is the hardest part. He is admissible this year but not 3Q yet. Idk why. He has a nomination. We're still being told he is competitive.
We were told to apply for every possible nomination. DS received one from a senator and congressman last year, but was medically disqualified due ACL/MCL/MENISCUS RECONSTRUCTION/SURGERY his senior year of h.s. It's been a long journey.
